My point is that most people aren't going to care how the media handles either show if they're invested in the return of either series.

Star Wars almost always overshadows Star Trek. It’s business as usual. And fans can focus on both. Business as usual.

I will be watching both, and The Orville, and The Expanse (I still haven't watched season 4), and Doctor Who, and all the super hero/comic book shows, and any other fun sci-fi they want to send my way [well, I don't really consider Discovery overly fun...]).

I think at this point The Mandalorian and Discovery are solidly established enough whatever impact they were going to have on each other would have already happened.
Personally I'm thrilled to be getting weekly new Star Wars and Star Trek stories at the same time.
