I meant she had a head start because she grew up on a ship with officers for parents. You are applying the worst possible interpretation of everything

 

Yeah, we need to remember that Mariner is a competent starfleet officer who knows what she is doing. She just marches to a different drummer because she is pissed at Starfleet.

 

Actually, I think it's to get back at her parents - BOTH of whom are fairly high ranking Starfleet officers. She's just using the situation she's in and whatever she has at hand in the endeavour.

 

I think the parents are part of it. My guess is that they put a lot of pressure on her. Her mom is a starship captain and her dad is an admiral. That's quite a lot to measure up to. And Mariner probably tried her best to measure up and it was never good enough. And then she gets demoted for reasons she disagrees with and she finally said "screw it. I'm just going to do my thing and not try to measure up anymore."

Andorians are the coolest species in the federation and they are warriors, I would like to see how Andorians and Klingons interact.

 

A competent Starfleet officer who got a Klingon general drunk on his way to a conference/meeting of some sort and then a shuttle stolen.

 

It's almost like the show is a comedy. Nah, that can't be it.

K’orin was a friend. So he and Mariner did what Klingons do, get drunk and tell stories. And Boimler walked off the shuttle without securing it, just like Mariner did.

 

But, if she was a "competent Starfleet officer who knows what she's doing" she wouldn't have gotten him drunk considering the trip he was on.

 

Trek has used "drunk" humor since day one. Officers getting drunk. Officers getting other people drunk. Virus that make people seem drunk.
