No way I'm staying up till 3AM, but I usually wake up by 6:30, and at 30 minutes I'll be able to fit it into my morning no problem.
Same. Minus the having to be up at 6:30 part. I was crazy enough to do this with Picard right before the premiere, because I felt the same way I did before I went to my high school reunion a few years earlier. It felt like reconnecting with people I hadn't "seen" in 20 years and catching up with them. And the thing I was most looking forward to was seeing how it would make up for the TNG Movies. Which I thought it ended up doing in spades.

But with Lower Decks, if I'm up to see it, it was because of insomnia. But I wouldn't count on it. I'm pretty tired right now. It's even more humid than usual, super-hot even with air conditioning, and it's making me drowsy. No way am I going to make it. And, like I said, there's not the urge of "I have to see it now!!!" like there was with Picard.

I like the intro, the characters have good chemistry, it's not afraid to be silly, it couldn't be less like DSC or PIC if it tried...

... so far it's what I expected. Not bad. Buttheytalkreallyfast! Justsoyouknow!

EDIT: The aliens-of-the-week look like Care Bears. () Anyone who's my age-ish will pick up on that immediately. ;)

DOUBLE-EDIT: Finished the episode. That was fun. I'm still learning the characters' names. It's hard to rate this, since it's so different from the other two series and I don't have my bearings on it yet. But I'm going to go with a 7.

That was amazing. It might be my favorite Star Trek series premiere now. Star Trek: Voyage Home even got a reference.

I love how quickly paced this show is. The quips just came flying and McMahn really does know his TNG. Did I even see the Encounter and Farpoint Jelly Fish in the This Season trailer? If they can bring back some of those obscure things and have this kind of storytelling, it's going to be a fun and wild ride. I so can't wait to get deeper into this season.

"Space whales" is your ST4 reference? They were earth humpback whales.

Just watched Lower Decks "Second Contact ". Painful. Hard to watch. Hated the story and the animation. I mainly hated the voice acting. People speak two sentences, literally one after the other, not even a breath between words or pauses. It annoyed me.
