E-Book Pricing Alerts

^ And for Canadians, all the sale prices are now in effect on Kobo Canada. As well, all but one is in effect on Amazon Canada, with the odd one out being Articles of the Federation, which is still listed at C$10.99. They updated the AotF price while I was typing this! :lol: All sale prices are now in effect at Amazon Canada, too! :)

I love AotF, and it's great to now have it in a digital format too! :D
 
On Amazon UK as well - picked me up Federation and Articles of... to complement the iBooks version I already have!

The exception seems to be A Rock and a Hard Place, which doesn't seem to have a Kindle version. But, Before Dishonor is 99p - maybe a replacement?
 
Hmmm...still not seeing the sale price for Articles yet on Amazon Canada.

Edit: Seeing it now. Really weird; I refreshed the product page multiple times to make sure, too.

For those of you who are in the same boat as me (Kindle bought in a smaller country without 'its' Amazon, thus registered at the Amazon.com Kindle store, non-eligible for sales which are for US residents, and not able to buy from any other Kindle store), you might be interested in checking out Storytel. It's mainly an audiobook service, but contains hundreds of ST ebooks, too. For example 'Kobayashi Maru', both the version by J. Ecklar, and the one by Martin&Mangels...

The best ways are to just look up Star Trek on whatever e-book store you're using and scroll through and see if you see any marked down books, or if you can find one to check the stores sales page.
I just checked and Federation and Rock and a Hard Place are still full price on Google Books.

With Amazon I have to search for "Star Trek pocket" otherwise sorting results by price low to high will result in hundreds of pages of garbage results for ultra-low-priced sci-fi books that are not Star Trek but somehow still come up.
 
So that's how you get rid of those. I ran into that a few times, and so I just stopped sorting by price.

Amazon needs to get rid of the utter CRAP that passes for ebooks. Like the 50 page college dissertations that someone calls an ebook that no one cares to read or buy. Amazon is getting out of hand with the useless recommendations while searching or flooding kindle tablets with ads. I know what I want to buy, let me get in and get it and get back to reading as quickly as possible, and make sure the authors that I support get the MAXIMUM amount of money possible.

Either way with the pandemic sadly ebooks are now more than ever a more important and safer way to read books, rather than the printing manufacturing, transportation, storing, and distributiom, plus point of sale of print books for myself. Granted its not a one size fits all for everyone, nor should it be, nor do I wish it to be for others. But for myself the pandemic makes me grateful and appreciative, that we have an ebook option.

Yup. Also "star trek simon" for some of the older books.
 
I had quite the haul this month: Takedown, Taking Wing, A Rock and a Hard Place, The Garden, Chrysalis, and - the crown jewel - Articles of the Federation, one of the ten Trek books I'd want to have if stranded on an island. (For those who haven't gotten Full Circle during a previous discount, grab it ASAP!)

After knowing this was coming for months, I'm stoked to see what September and beyond hold in store. Love kicking off every month with Trek books!

September's deals are not showing quite yet. I did see Rendezvous with Rama for $1.99 today, which may be of interest to Star Trek's audience.

Immortal Coil!! That's exciting. I thought it would be a long time before we saw that one. Whoever out there is discounting the old numbered* novels has my gratitude.

Already nabbed Elusive Salvation and Enigma Tales in earlier sales.

I meant to read How Much for Just the Planet? after tearing through The Final Reflection, but it didn't grab me the same way (and life conspired to interfere, as it typically does); guess this is the impetus I need to tackle it again.

Ishmael mostly stands out for being one of the most beaten-up paperbacks in my collection; it was one of the first Trek books I ever snagged a couple decades ago in my small-town hometown bookstore, and I've had a devil of a time replacing it. Seems like every copy out there on store shelves has been through a rugby match or twelve. Is it actually any good?

And I feel pretty neutral about Equinox, but I'm happy my VOY collection steadily grows. Maybe someday they'll discount The Nanotech War, The Black Shore, or The Murdered Sun.

It's no August haul, but few months are, and any month where I can grab at least one great book is a good one. Thanks to @DWMarch and @Koric for the heads-up!

* Immortal Coil isn't numbered, but I've always counted it, A Hard Rain, and The Battle of Betazed as #64, #65, and #66. A Hard Rain remains the only "numbered" TNG book I haven't read.
