Spoilers Agents of SHIELD- The Final Season Discussion

Wonder if they’re going to explain Enoch’s little out of time Terminator reference.
That's not necessary to explain, is it? All these multiple versions of characters have gotten a little confusing, but I believe that the current season's Enoch has already lived through the 80's and the following decades, right?

That made me think. Could their be two Enoch's out their? One who was left behind this season and the one we first saw two years ago? I forget how long he had been on earth back then.

I wonder if the split screens will be this episode's version of the 50s B&W Noir.

Maybe it's a sign of my age but I can imagine a show like this doing 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s and a distinct look for each. However, I don't think the 90s, 00s, and 10s are quite so distinct (well, late 90s anyway, the early years had some really bright colors).
I've been noticing that for a while. Up through the early 80s, each decade of the 20th century had its own distinct identity. The last few, though, have been rather culturally stagnant.

No, not for me. But I kinda think they will, if for no other reason than a good chance to get another laugh. They could easily have gone for a more 70’s related reference like Dirty Harry or something, but didn’.

We’ll see how it plays out.

..."Insight"?

Well, well, somebody is remembering we watch the movies, too. I wonder what the '70s version looked like. Probably not AI-driven, satellite-targeted, antifascist-targeting sniper helicarriers.

I'm probably not the first to mention this but with all this time-jumping and zaniness, do we think they might go all out and have our agents be in New York during the events of The Avengers? It'd be amazing to have the regular events, the Endgame events, and SHIELD events all going on at the same time.

That gives me a headache. (Have they made any "Back to the Future" references yet, cuz that would be a natural.)

Well, things turned to shit very fast.

I'm not surprised the Chronicoms are several steps ahead of our heroes but it's a shame they couldn't figure that out on their own.

Great to see Patrick Warburton pop again. More of him is always great, even with a rubbish fake mustache!

I'm glad Enoch is finally back into the fold and just in time it seems.

I wondered if we would see Whitehall again. Considering the means of his return, does that mean Daisy will unexpectedly meet her mother again?

I'm guessing the photograph is of Fitz...and someone else? Malick indicated that there were two people. Not sure who that would be. Maybe Deke's mother?

I loved the 70's opening titles. Just a shame there was no Fitz in it. :(

So the timeline is completely off the rails at this point. So either two things are going to happen: Either they completely write off this season as a new timeline entirely (and potentially our heroes may never see their own time again) or they figure out someway of traveling back in time without the Chronicoms and set things back into place. Or, I suppose, there's a third option and the show pretends that killing Wilfred Malick and preventing Project Insight's 40-year-early launch is enough to push the timeline back into place. I really hope it's not that third option, especially since there seems to be more damage incoming.

That would be fantastic! :D

funny opening credits :D

Ugh, stuck in the 70s for another episode it seems :(

Re: Simmons red dots tracker or control chip in her neck.
Enoch seems to know what's going on.
So my guess, it's not a bad thing, but more of a surpresser for knowledge (because it's somehow too dangerous or too early) or some powers that will be unshackled latter on. Still not missing Fitz at all. (Sorry shippers).

I have no idea where/when they are going for the overall storyline other than at some point there is gonna be a Chronicoms vs Shield fight with Hydra sideplots.

(some of) the Avengers helping them out on screen would be epic though!

More likely however is some sort of reset button (monolith or so) or an alternate timeline.

The '70s credits were awesome, I kind of wish more shows had full credits these days.
Seeing Patrick Warburton's character again was fun.
The stuff with the Chronicoms and Malick moving the Insight program up was a nice way to connect things to familiar history.
Sousa's reactions to a lot of the '70s stuff was pretty fun, I'm looking forward to seeing him in the modern day.
I'm curious how much more they're going to play around with known timeline now that the Chronicoms are more actively working against Coulson and Co.
And poor Enoch is finally back with the team. I wonder if we'll get to learn any more about what he's been up to for the last 40 years.
Not sure what the make of the red thing in Simmons back, the fact that Enoch and her don't seem to concerned makes me think it must not be anything bad.

I thought that was just Mack's parents.
I can't remember, was there anyone else working with Simmons and Enoch besides Fitz?
