I doubt it was just that as both problems are easily solved. Sets can be redressed/repurposed, and indeed already have been. The Shenzhou's bridge was turned into the command centre on the Section 31 ship is season 2, Disco's bridge was a Starfleet bridge in Picard. As for the cast, American Horror Story holds onto many of the same actors and recasts them as different characters in each season, there's no reason why a Star Trek anthology series couldn't do likewise.
With how pedantic most of Trek fandom is and the often total refusal to accept real world reasons for production and stylistic changes, i can't see this idea as being anything other than total nightmare.
I disagree. The potential for drama is too great. The show won't pass that up. Spock will probably find out through a mindmeld. Pike will make him swear not to do anything....Spock might even feign getting the memory erased....then at the end of the ep we see him starting a program called "Talos Project".
Ok, potential for drama and making sense are not necessarily the same thing. So, no I don't think it makes sense.
Then, there is nothing that we can call as "right", according to your own statement. Because you can't even describe what "Right" that you're talking about. the best solution will "No more Star Trek", or "Make a good Star Trek that the studio thinks 'right'. and ignore your preference.
Yes, those are the best possible solutions. Because then they will make something entertaining and potentially fun. Or, no more Star Trek. Either is fine with me.
Finally, The Cage pilot is picked up as a series. Squee! 5 series. No cancellations. Kelvin Timeline Film #4. The Time of Star Trek is Now.
Oh, there are some series from the 2000s and also from the 2010s, that also had this idea of "going from procedural to serial". The last two examples, where they did this very well in my eyes, were "Agents of SHIELD" and, of course, the underrated "Person of Interest". Another example would be "Fringe", although, in my eyes, the story didn't work at the end...
people have to behave like people. I had no problem with those...enjoyed discovery a lot and Picard. 53 year old fan
Have the Negative-Nelly's given up on the 'Star Trek Is Sure to be Cancelled' rumors yet? I've kinda lost track.
Last video that came up in my YouTube recommendations was about how SNW is a sign that both discovery and Picard have failed.
Because of course, when two TV shows fail, the next obvious step is to do another spin-off. But then, I suppose that does track with Midnight's Edge's logic.
