These people really live in their own fantasy world. They've been making up stories about Sir Patrick and taking things out of context so that it fits their narrative ever since he announced his return to the franchise. I sometimes feel the urge to jump in and dismantle their nonsense word by word but then I remember it's not worth it.
It's been posted elsewhere in the forum. I made it through 15-20 seconds.

As has been mentioned, we started a new thread pretty much just because of this video. So I've moved the posts concerning it to said thread, where it should be kept.
Not their strongest work. I agree with a lot of the points he's trying to make, but they're not well-presented. Lots of rambling digressions and poor organization. I think Mike needed a second look from somebody less emotionally invested who could help weed out the chaff.
They make fun of the "woke" support for stuff like Black Panther and Ghostbusters 2016, so, in the no-gray-area that is the Internet, that makes them sexists.
I don't typically geek shame, but what a ******* dork. He looks like the kind of fan that RLM lampoon in their satirical Nerd Crew videos.

I've met several of these people on Twitter.
They're all sitting around waiting with bated breath for the supposed forthcoming Trekpocalypse (the one where Viacom is forced to declare bankruptcy and sell the Trek franchise to Seth MacFarlane at a fire sale price, who will then come in and cancel Disco and Picard after impaling Alex Kurtzman on a pike).
They're convinced that nuTrek is responsible for every hiccup in Viacom's share price (that's not how it works, guys

When you're willing/predisposed to hate something so much, you're never going to see the positives.
The videos that first brought them to prominence, their reviews of the SW PT, are full of jokes about the Mr. Plinket character being a domestic abuser and murderer of his ex-wives and of sex workers. One recurring joke involves Mr. Plinket picking up and discarding the remains of murdered sex workers while searching for SW merchandise in his basement. Another joke involved him abducting a sex worker, using the cinematic language of the horror genre to imply that he intended to murder her, only to reveal that he actually intended to force her to watch the PT.
So, yeah, sorry, but Red Letter Media has always had a misogyny problem.
RLM did hit on most of what I didn't enjoy about Picard. I guess the difference is they have given up on the show and I have not. Also they don't mention any of the good stuff. For instance I LOVED Riker making a pizza. The next day I went out and bought ingredients and made my own because it inspired me to do so. That of course is just the little stuff.
The big thing they never touched is where else in this youth obsessed culture do you get a show/movie portraying a non useless older person? Picard is about an older person who still has value and can make a difference. I loved that about the show. I also look forward to their future adventures.

If they have given up on the show then why do they continue making their horrible "everything is terrible about this show" videos? I mean if they truly didn't care anymore they'd just move on. But hey, spreading hate gets them clicks and therefore money, I guess...
And these videos do have an impact, unfortunately. I was reading a tweet from someone the other day that basically went like "I enjoyed PIC but then I watched some Youtube videos that made it clear to me why the show is terrible, and I found myself in agreement, and now I'm far more critical towards it, it really was bad". I also keep reading tweets that go like "I kinda want to check out PIC but I've heard so many bad things about it on YouTube that I don't think I should watch it". YouTube is a MASSIVE source of information for a lot of people (whether this is questionable or not is a debate for another day), and the casual science fiction fan who has maybe just watched a bunch of TNG episodes and is now curious about what PIC is like won't be able to notice the anti-everything-new-Trek agenda behind the videos and will take them at face value. I'm not concerned about those who watch those videos and drink up the hate like kool-aid, those are "beyond help", but I am concerned about casual fans who are being influenced in a massive way by these people.
You have a good point. They don't ever suggest you check it out yourself. Places like Nerdrotic say don't watch it and ill just review it and save you the trouble. So that is unfortunate.
As for the hour long RLM video. It did hit on what I didn't like (like the federation fleet shot where they mostly looked alike) among other things they never talked much about the good stuff. They also seem to dislike far more stuff that didn't bother me much. I can't remember if they actually liked anything? Maybe the final scene between Data and Picard? I just don't recall.
