The idea of seeing the crew bond more seems like a good idea. Still seems dumb to be pointing Tilly to some leadership ark. love the character and she in fact is my favorite character on the show but she has not shown herself to have any leadership skills at all. The things it would take to develop that would in fact take away from the character because she would be less fun and quirky.

I thought Tilly took command quite effectively and efficiently in the "That's the power of math, people!" scene.

I'd disagree that Tilly has no leadership skills she can be quite assertive and is an out of the box thinker. Good, competent leaders are made not born. IRL I've seen people with 'natural leadership skills' do really shit jobs at leading.
