I would imagine lots of folks out in Hollywood are busy with writing right now.

I wonder if some producers are going to have a busy few weeks coming up this summer, as they field all sorts of pitches from people they work with, once they're allowed to go to lunch with each other again.

Pre-Production in general shouldn't be massively hindered by the lockdown, since writing and even things like conceptual work & previz can be done remotely, at least to a certain extent. So anything that hasn't reached the casting stage (since that requires booking actors, sound stages & a million other logistical items ahead of time) should be OK-ish. Anything that's further along is going to be stuck in limbo for a while. Even post production work is tricky since you really can't score most movies without a full orchestra and that's obviously a non-starter for the time being.

In a move said to be coronavirus related, Marvel has canceled its overall deals with Punisher developer Steve Lightfoot and Helstrom showrunner Paul Zbyszewski.

I wasn't really expecting a second season of Helstrom, but I guess this cements it, doesn't it?

It seems like a shame. The family of horror based shows that Marvel television and Hulu were developing sounded so promising at first. The news that Gabriel Luna was getting his own Ghost Rider show had me ridiculously happy. And now we're not even getting that, just one season of Helstrom. Ah, what might have been...

What if Pepper Potts had actually died at the end of Iron Man Three, how might that have changed the subsequent films?

They'd be unrecognizable because Pepper's the one who actually defeated the bad guy in IM3. Without her, Tony'd be dead from there on out, too.

That is one of the bigger Disney MCU crimes - the Marvel Netflix shows were amazing for the most part, especially Daredevil and Punisher, and they were a nice counterweight to the sanitized MCU movies (which i love but they are designed for mass appeal amd maximum profits). I'm not holding my breath that they will bring a "faithful" Netflix Matt Murdock with all the bloody fights into the MCU movies. If he fights it will be in the MCU style with flashy moves, maybe a bloody nose but that's it.

Disney should rather get over itself and work out a deal with Netflix to let them continue their Marvel shows as both sides profit from them but that would run counter to Disney's desire to have absolute control over all their franchises and properties.

Oh yeah, if we see any of the Netflix heroes in the movies or on Disney+ they will probably be toned down. The only way I could see the characters appearing in the same style as they did on Netflix is if they show up on Hulu.

I don't see how if they showed up in the movies they'd have to be toned down. I mean, they get as bloody as they do in the shows because usually they're just fighting normal fragile humans.

Put Daredevil and Punisher up against aliens or supercriminals who don't bruise so easily or are bulletproof. They stay as brutal as they are, but there isn't as much blood because they're fighting a higher class of bad guy.

I mean really, take Hawkeye/Ronin's rampage against the Yakuza. That could easily be redone to be with Punisher instead and none of the character's edge is lost.

Likewise, Tony's fight with Thanos on Titan could been depicted far more roughly (on his side, obviously). Same for the big three against Thanos outside of Avengers HQ.

Daredevil and The Punisher were a breath of needed fresh air to all things Marvel on film, and were the best productions after Captain America 1 & 2. It should have been a priority to move them from Netflix to the big screen. Obviously, that did not happen, and its the MCU's loss.

Beh, DD started falling apart after S1. Punisher was never more than mediocre.

I was really impressed with Daredevil and how brutal they went with the filming style. I don't usually care for the blood but they did it well, in my opinion. Season 1 remains my favorite Marvel installment to date, with Season 2 close behind it. I love the many layers they kept adding to Matt's character, and how much of a toll being Daredevil took on him. I did not expect to like the inclusion of the Punisher but his introduction was very much engaging to me.

Lots of great and fun one liners and excellent character work. I agree that a Daredevil film in that style is a complete loss to the franchise because it is a dynamic piece of work.

I thought season 1 & 3 of Daredevil were amazing while season 2 was very good. Imo, Punisher season 1 is the best NetflixMCU out there.

I thought Season Three of Daredevil was the best season. I was disappointed he didn't have his costume, but I thought the creative team really understood the character. Season Two felt like it fell apart a bit by the end, but I enjoyed the beginning quite a bit.

Daredevil and Punisher were way to different from the tone and style of the movies, there was no way they were going to release movie versions as part of the MCU without changing them to match the style of the rest of movie.
The only way I could maybe see them doing it was if they came up with some other name to release them under, like taking the name of Marvel's MAX mature readers imprint or something
