Yeah USS Perverse would be a good name as well.

I'd rather see fifty cookie-cutter post-NEM starships that look recognizably late 24th century than more DSC Era starships that were so popular we never saw them in TOS, the TOS Movies, TNG, the TNG Movies or DS9.![]()
Maybe they were drones, and Riker's ship and crew were controlling all/most of 'em.
Well, yes, probably. But maybe she did, and that just meant she knew exactly how screwed she was.I would think that Oh would have known that if that were the case, seeing as how she infiltrated Starfleet and became the director of Starfleet security.
Assuming I'm right, which I fully admit that I'm pulling all of this right out of my butt, so I'm probably not, but for the sake of argument: 1. There would probably be more than one control (but hopefully not CONTROL) ship out of all of that, and 2. I don't think we have onscreen confirmation that the Romulans know which ship even IS the Zheng He. They all certainly look enough alike, and if Riker was controlling all of them with some sort of multicast setup, he could've had that signal coming from any of them.Unlikely. If she knew that all the ships were empty and controlled by Riker's ship, all she needed to do was destroy the Zheng He and the rest of the fleet would be useless.

And I agree. That was part of my point: maybe no subterfuge was necessary. Oh could have known all of that, been familiar with the logistics of it, and that could have been part of the reason she backed down: she knew the Romulan fleet she was commanding couldn't match it.It’s all good; I’m not trying to downplay your idea. I just think that Riker wasn’t going to get away with any subterfuge with Oh because she knows everything Starfleet knows.
Yeah that wouldn't work on a former Head of Starfleet Security as she would know about the technology. My original theory was that a lot of Riker's armada were holograms to fool Oh into thinking that Starfleet had sent a huge force but not only did the episode not support that but Oh and her Romulan sensors would have detected that something wasn't right.
A poet ship, the USS Per VerseYeah USS Perverse would be a good name as well.![]()
I think so too. War should not have been their first response especially if they want to carry forward peace with the Romulans, which is also tenuous.I probably would have gone all Captain Blood and blown her away too, but considering the circumstances, Riker’s goal was one of deterrence and not to start a kenetic war with an equal number of Romulan ships, which would certainly have happened had he taken her out. The death toll would have been quite horrific. In the end, I think he made the right choice there.
Emergency Romulan HologramsMaybe each ship had Skeleton crews? Mostly tactical and Engineers?
You aren't wrong about this version being scaled-up. At all.STO is adding a La Sirena inspired ship.

I say inspired, because while it looks nearly identical, they scaled it up so it could be used a small Starship instead of a small craft. They did scale down the windows so they don't look out of place.
