Yeah I remember seeing that and wondering, “wait, I thought this was going to be a prequel!”

I wonder if fans would have been happier if we got some Discovery Federation ships among the fleet instead of just the one new class?
Not to be snarky but Fans? Happy? I would be blown away if when they release a detailed model of the new ship that it isn't torn apart down to the atoms for daring to be different.I wonder if fans would have been happier if we got some Discovery Federation ships among the fleet instead of just the one new class?
Honestly, Discovery's ship designs fits a post 24th century vibe then a Pre-TOS vibe more. Not to be snarky but Fans? Happy? I would be blown away if when they release a detailed model of the new ship that it isn't torn apart down to the atoms for daring to be different.
Is that happiness?
I kind of see it...sort of. But, I feel its more a weird mash-up of ENT and TMP. Which is fine by me, since I never subscribed to the fan theory that they all looked like the Enterprise, despite my intense love of Franz Josephs work.Honestly, Discovery's ship designs fits a post 24th century vibe then a Pre-TOS vibe more.
I like the Curiosity and the Seeker. Less so the Equity.Curiosity. Equity. Seeker.
Interesting choices for class names.
The word sounds good. As a starship class...? It's odd.Equity...I like it. Especially in these times. It's an answer to a Problem.
Plus, it may also speak of Ferengi rapprochement with the Federation.
I half expected the final Starfleet ships to all be Discovery shuttles.I wonder if fans would have been happier if we got some Discovery Federation ships among the fleet instead of just the one new class?
Too much to hope for.I half expected the final Starfleet ships to all be Discovery shuttles.
I wanna see the Amity class, perhaps a USS CarcharodonOne sense of equity is "the quality of being fair and impartial". This is presumably why Chabon would name this class after this word.
