I wonder what stopped them using the Enterprise? Was it licensing issues or the fact they didn’t want to repeat the season one finale of Discovery again. Maybe they also thought that it might overshadow everything else.

Because no matter what happened you'd have people upset

"OMG The Enterprise EFG doesn't have a window, how does that make sense?"

"OMG The Enterprise EFG HAS A WINDOW WHAT THE HELL"

"OMG WHY IS TROI DRIVING?"

So now that Oh is outed as a Romulan general it would seem the Federation is looking for a new head of security. Hopefully one that's not an alien plant, a double agent, or a member of a secret cult.
Nothing new for them, considering something like half of all admirals in Starfleet Command since its formation has been either evil or insane or both. And that's just the ones not in Section 31.

Or driven insane by the knowledge.
Either way, her mind was altered and then restored. So, it's OK. Just like when Spock tried to kill Kirk, then thought he killed Kirk, then Chekov tried to kill Kirk, and Geordi tried to kill a Klingon governor.
Except that in each of those cases there was a clear shift of each character outside their normal behaviour due to external or biological factors that would make a case that they were not in possession of their full faculties.
In Jurati's case it seemed that she knew exactly what she was doing and felt it was necessary at the time based on what had been revealed to her.

Overall, I felt the episode was a big let-down.

However, I was delighted by two Agnes moments—"Are you not answering for the sake of suspense?" and the multi-paste of her head both actually made me laugh out loud. But the latter mostly for its jarring abrasion against Trek texture, so that's a miss for me in the end.

Speaking of Agnes, I'm kind of fond of the character and I think the actress is quite good, so I say this with all possible respect and affection: doesn't she look a bit like she's out Wallace & Gromit?

I'll also add my voice to the chorus saying that a 7/Raffi pairing is plausible, but that the hand-fondling snap at the end felt too sudden. So much of this episode felt rushed, and I agree strongly with whoever it was who said above in the thread that it felt like a lot of it is lying on the cutting-room floor.

The absolute best thing about Picard has been seeing some old faces show up in the weekly threads. Hi, susannah, it's been a while!

I never posted all season because it seems every episode gets 10/10 by default from the majority here and I would...certainly not give any episode that score. But I don't want to be mean and mostly just don't want to debate Star Trek opinions at this point in life so I just don't post. I wish I'd liked it more! The early episodes were good. Loved Picard's Romulan housekeepers. The "sheer fucking hubris" scene in episode two made me think the show could be something special. But these last two episodes have been dire and I just feel a bit sad about it all.

I agree with susannah (hi susannah!) that Alison Pill is a delight as the Wensleydale loving Agnes, but it's kind of weird how she murdered her lover a couple of days ago and now she's got a new boyfriend and everyone's fine about the murder.

Being positive though: loved Riker in uniform in a Captain's seat. I'd watch the shit out of a Riker show (if it was good. Otheriwse I'd just watch it and leave the shit.)

I mean, I know its not a perfect rationalization. But, it is, sadly, a Trek rationalization where people are welcomed back despite such extremes in behavior. Sorry, but a first officer trying to murder his captain is not something where things go right back to normal.

The driving factors of this season was the struggle Picard has with data's death and also the fact that life is precious and he is dying from something he or noone else has control over...what can be bigger than this for season 2??

After a second watch I'm starting to think this should have been the series finale but with Picard dying and rejoining data in digital eternity.

So.. One Admiral (retired) Jon luc Picard dead, 2399..
Long live Zerox Picard 2.0!

All the same her bland feddy ships warp in..ugh.. Have the Enterprise E .. Or a Luna class Titan.. Or An Aventine! ..:brickwall:

Kinda Meh ending.. I mean.. That Borg cube had a sphere door! Have seven pop up and zap a few dozen rommys! Ugh..

I mean I was hoping some elder synth would come thru and all sides would attack it!!
