Damon Lindelof wants to work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe:

I think that doing something in the Marvel universe, anywhere in the Marvel Universe, would be really potentially exciting for me, especially as they start to get a little bit more experimental. Some of the things that I’ve seen for Wandavision, for example, just feel like, “Okay, now we’re getting somewhere.” Particularly in a television space.
As someone who loves LOST (yes, including "The End"), The Leftovers, and Watchmen, I think he would be a great fit for a television series. Question is which characters would be best served by his style of writing?

There was a rumor mentioned on Kevin Smith's podcast Fatman Beyond which says a certain Lawyer (Matt Murdock) would show up in the third film played by none other than Charlie Cox. Which is pretty big thing if true. They sometimes have insider information which they let slip from time to time so maybe there is some truth to it.

Well, either him or Bruce Banner calling his cousin...

Third film of what?

That rumour has been floating around ever since 'Far from Home' came out. Mostly because it's a no-brainer way to not just get Cox as Matt into the movies, but perhaps more importantly, D'Onofrio as Kingpin too.

It remains to be seen whether this'll mean the Netflix shows in general will be be made officially canon (as opposed to the "kinda/sorta/maybe" status all of the non-movie projects have had thus far) or whether it'll be just like when they cast JK Simmons to play the MCU's version JJJ (see also: D'Arcy's appearance in 'Endgame' still has the 'Agent Carter' show in a weird narrative superposition status.) I suspect the former, but wouldn't be shocked by the latter either.

Indeed, the 2 year hold on using those characters is just about up and certainly will be by the time Spidy 3 is out, so it's at least feasable.

I saw a story about that a week or two ago, and I think it would make more sense to see him than not if they are sticking to the comics origin. I guess you could do it all off screen if you absolutely had to, but having him appear would work a lot better IMO.

Usually I'd just blow something like that off, but the fact that it's coming from someone like Kevin Smith does make this seem at least slightly more likely.

As fun as it was seeing Jameson reinvented as an Alex Jones' type conspiracy Loon...I'm finding myself realizing how much more interesting if they'd used a more recent version of Jameson from the comics.

Where he was the popular Mayor of NYC.

It would be fantastic to get both Cox and D'Oonofrio in a Spidey film, but I'm highly doubtful. On the other hand, I never thought we'd see Simmons as JJJ again and yet here we are. So maybe there is hope?
If you want a way to get me back in to Marvel films this would be it.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised to actually hear this kind of news. I guess writing is the kind of thing you can do at home.
