I'm sure those synths would say, "Be careful where you get your 200,000 year-old news from. Fake news! We're the good guys."
Another one that was easily merged into an existing thread. Honestly, we don't need a separate thread for every odd theory. Also, the thread title was pretty damn spoilerish.Maybe the synth civilization exists for a very long time and destroyed both the Tkon and the Romulan Star Empire to keep themselves save and hidden.
Perhaps the Zhat Vash are right and the synths destroy biological species and empires, which reach a technological progress that allows them to create and enslave artificial life.
Soong's work was based on Borg technology and therefore every Synth created by the Daystrom Institue is secretly a Borg
And honestly, that is what worries me about the conclusion of this season. It's the possibility the writers wrote themselves into a corner and now can't deliver what ever the truly horrible secret is that would drive people to suicide just from having seen it.
Actually, the Tkon empire capital planet was destroyed by a supernova and there is no mention of when the supernova took place. Which mean they defeated their synths sometime before the supernova.
It probably will be mention in future episodes of what the warning is and what not to do. It might be not treat the robots and androids under you like slaves, or it could be something else, like not use them to fight your wars for you.I don't think the T'Kon (and perhaps the Iconians alongside them) were eradicated by their androids and other AI creations, it's implied in the warning that if a galactic civilisation advances to the point that AIs become too biomechanical or autonomou,s etc, with their own ecosystem, this extra galactic threat slowly wakes up, rolls in, and cleans the slate.
Maybe even the Borg Collective was founded in the first place to prepare for this old enemy, and it also forced Control's hand in eradicating sentient life in the other timeline.
Plus, based on the conference in La Sirena, they imply that as well. Picard mentioned a threshold, then Rios mentions the warp barrier. Implying that it's a event that attracts someone's attention, just like Cochrane attracted the attention of the Vulcans.I don't think the T'Kon (and perhaps the Iconians alongside them) were eradicated by their androids and other AI creations, it's implied in the warning that if a galactic civilisation advances to the point that AIs become too biomechanical or autonomou,s etc, with their own ecosystem, this extra galactic threat slowly wakes up, rolls in, and cleans the slate.
I also get the impression that it might also be significant that only women are being shown the secret information. I don't know to what end though.

Like others have suggested, there doesn't necessarily need to be one. The memory transfer from the Admonition could contain a mental virus/poison unrelated to the information it contains, or not really be compatible with the minds of the current humanoid species. In that case, whilst the secret is associated with the madness, the secret might not be the cause of it.

Is Narek fully Zhat Vhash or just Tal Shiar and working for his sister? He certainly seems to know much but does he know all?
I think he is just Tal Shiar.
Yeah, after episode 8, I'd say that's likely, but prior to that I would have said he was Zhat Vash.I think he is just Tal Shiar.
I'm thinking there may be no male Zhat Vash.Yeah, after episode 8, I'd say that's likely, but prior to that I would have said he was Zhat Vash.
Could the ancient sythetic race be who was responsible for creating V'ger? Or some thing completely new and unheard of?
