And now it has several art directors listed. Which seems like what you'd have for a series early in pre-production.

What do we all think of Strange New World as a title? It seems a bit odd to make it singular, but it's probably not final either.

    Bland and uninspired.

I doubt it's the final title, it's likely they removed Star Trek: Enterprise and subbed it out for a codename. It's not a very good codename, mind.

If it's actually the title? I like it. No Trek show has had the classic opening narration since TNG, and I miss it. Nice way to bring it back.

The three people listed are also working on Section 31 and Discovery. It seems this is real!

It should be Strange New WorldS though... Unless the series takes place on one planet...

Why not just go back to calling it plain-old "Star Trek," and assume it's just the continuation from the original pilot episode?

That would actually be the perfect title.

If they did just call it Star Trek, then they would have to ensure it was fully accessible to audiences who've never seen Star Trek before. Both Discovery and Picard will be very confusing to new viewers. Pike is the perfect opportunity to create a gateway series to lure new people in.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has a nice ring to it, but it holds out a promise that Trek's mostly been punting on since the early 90s.

It may be a bit uninspired, but it's fantastic compared to: Deep Space Nine,* Voyager, Enterprise, Discovery and Picard.

*Deep Space Nine is actually the best of the lot - yeah, it's a single proper noun like all the others, but at least the name itself is a little evocative.

The studio obviously would not owe Berman or Braga anything for the use of the name Star Trek: Enterprise. If this were a sequel to that TV series, they would owe Berman and Braga payments as writer/creators for any use of returning characters from that series.

Given that CBS/Kurtzman/Trek has a considerable organization and infrastructure in place for these shows, they can probably go forward with some preproduction - design, writing, budgeting, even some casting - through telework in the event that actual production of future shows might be delayed or curtailed due to the pandemic.

But in which order? With no gap, it's hard to tell. These things matter, you know. :klingon:

Alternatively, it could be Yes! Yes! Yes! Of course, that's only after he's back with Vina.
