Star Trek Picard is not Star Trek

And then Sisko - a Berman Era Captain with a temper that could melt a Tholian at the crystalline level and make a Klingon wince and hold back - rendered an entire planet in the Demilitarized Zone uninhabitable just to get back at one man who'd betrayed him. That is Kirk Plus.

Kirk is by far my Captain. Sisko is a close second. Picard is certainly different and I like the turn he’s made in the new series. I’m thrilled it’s not TNG 2.0. The others? Pike and Lorca both had interesting moments but not ultimately all that memorable. And the less said about Janeway and Archer the better in my opinion.

And make them feel warm and comfortable. Humanity is always going to be a work in progress, not a final destination we'll reach when we can replicate food out of thin air.

To be fair, Midnight's Edge and Doomcock would put anyone off thinking they can enjoy both a career as well as respect by being on YouTube.

Full disclosure...I liked them when they confirmed my bias and I don't when they don't.

I greatly dislike DISCO....but I can at least admit the parts I do like. It's just obnoxious to hate and hate and hate with the same tired complaints that have been refuted over and over.

There are things about DSC I adore and things that make me retch. But if I came in here guns blazing with the sole goal of talking only about what I don't like not only would my shtick get tired fast but I'd alienate everyone who might agree with me when I do post a cogent point.

And complaints like (If one is being serious) "Why didn't they just go to Baku??? The writers have never seen Trek!!!"

I don't kniow!! Why don't they break out a glass of Scalosian Water every ep??? Or take some Kironide and blast away with telekinetic powers??

Edit: That would actually be pretty cool. I can actually see some scoundral/collector character like Lorca or maybe RIos breaking out some Scalosian water in a huge emergency.

That's classified. Commodore Oh should be knocking on your door in 1...2..3...

Nope its Narissa....

We did get a Ba'ku Planet reference in the Augment Arc of ENT. Arik Soong mentions there are at least two inhabitable planets within the Briar Patch. We got our references to INS. The new series doesn't really have to reference it unless it so chooses.

Question:

I started in the TNG era (the side effect of being born in 1985) and TUC was the first Trek movie I saw in theaters..

I like all the Treks..does that validate or invalidate "True Trek Fan" status? I'm just trying to figure out the standard I should hold myself to .

Or use a psycho-tricorder whenever someone might be lying, or use Seven's nanoprobes to bring the dead back to life, or remove viroxic sequences with a transporter to restore youth, or use the Dominion's portable transporters to travel vast distances at will...
