Even though Picard is basically Prime Timeline Star Trek XI starring a third cast, I'm guessing that eventually they'll account for all of the main seven TNG regulars. Not necessarily that we'll see them but we'll know what happened to them or what they're doing. Four down (Picard, Data, Riker, Troi), three to go (Crusher, Geordi, Worf).

I wouldn’t mind if Discovery showed up, provided that they stayed in the 25th century going forwards.
We don't even know what the reference could be though? Control could simply be referenced as part of the Zhat Vash backstory of their hatred of AI and maybe what kept them underground for so long.
I want the Big Bad Secret to make sense. I could care very little if Control appears. If it does, I'm OK and if it doesn't I'm also OK.
What I am pushing back against is the knee jerk reactionism against DSC. For me, it's the frustration of the desire for new Trek to be like Old Trek but then when they reuse assets like Old Trek then its bad.
It makes zero sense.

And be very Star Trek, given the "Naked Now" came very soon in Season 1 and was a direct connection to TOS.
That went right over my head. But I never doubted it's Star Trek anyway; my concerns are whether it's good or not.
