I'm sure Nana Visitor would love to play Kira again. If she turns up on PIC, what would be the ideal role for her to play?

(the only reason that "Bajoran vedek" is one of the choices, is because that's what Kira is in the novelverse. IIRC, Nana hates this idea.)

Me, I'm leaning towards an Admiral of the fleet. Kira probably won't still be on DS9 (and it's unlikely the show will go there anyway), but IMHO she would kick ass as a fleet commander.

isn't there a catchall "character x on pic" thread

Apologies if there is. I'm too tired to look.

I can't really see Kira in politics. She's not the type. So if a prominent official like the President of the Federation turns up, it won't be her.

And, IIRC, Bajor has indeed joined the Federation as of 2399 (in the pilot episode, during Picard's interview, the makeup artist is Bajoran).

A politician in a joint Bajoran-Cardassian Union. I like the idea that after the Dominion war, instead of joining the Federation, Bajor formed a long term alliance with its former oppressors to rebuild together.
And perhaps this time Bajor has the upper hand!

I think she's one of the least likely people to show up on PIC. Although she's one of my favorites, so if they'd find a believable way, I'd be happy.

I'd say captain of DS9, but feel like she might want to move on and DS9 would represent the past... Can't really see her at a desk job (politician, admiral), but also I doubt she would go back to her rebel ways (Rangers). Not that I'd complain. But she's not 30 anymore... Vedek really is the worst idea! Yes, she's religious, but come on.

I like the idea that Bajor did not join Starfleet and of a Bajoran-Cardassian Alliance. Maybe she could be some kind of mediator between the cultures? Ambassador? Coordinator of the fleet... ok, that would be fleet admiral, right?

Now, how that could even be relevant to PIC later on... The only angle I see would be that maybe the Obsidian Order is working with the Tal Shiar (GARAK!) and Kira et al want to reign them in...

As I said, higly unlikely.

I have just two wishes:
1. not a religious career
2. Please don't have her pining for Odo after all these years.

Admiral doesn't have to be a desk job. We've seen plenty of them out in the field. For example, if things go south with the Romulans or Borg (or both), I can totally see Kira leading a Starfleet task force into battle.

but also I doubt she would go back to her rebel ways (Rangers).

The Fenris Rangers aren't really rebels. They're not fighting against the Federation, they're going where the Federation can't (or won't) go.

Sure, that could work. Although I like her much better in a Bajoran uniform... But seriously, the Bajor-Cardassian angle is interesting. They wouldn't have to be enemies of the Federation.

I know, but I imagine it's quite a hectic and uncomfortable life. But yes, I can see her there.
