LOL, I feel you. TNG is a bit of a slog compared to some of the other series (I agree on liking the 3 series you mentioned best). I think if you focus on the Borg-centric stuff in TNG you should have adequate background in the Picard prelim views without causing yourself to suffer unduly. I've only seen s1-3 of TNG plus the Borg eps, so we'll be in good company if we both get lost in Picard.
congrats!So...I got all the way up to TNG S3E14 before I had to put my binge watching on hold so that I could actually focus on studying for the NCLEX (I passed and I am officially a nurse now! Yay!).
Well S01E03 showed us
Is what I said really a spoiler? That the spoiler policy in this forum is 2 years

People are going bananas over Seven coming back:

And Jeri's response:

I think the bashing was more about what the producers wanted her to be versus what she actually was. Kate Mulgrew has apologized for her behavior toward Jeri Ryan, stating she felt like she, Mulgrew, was getting upstaged by T&A and lashed out at Ryan instead of Bermaga because she was the easier target. Likewise, people wanted to dismiss Seven for the same reasons because let's face it, she probably wouldn't have been brought on if Braga hadn't been dating her at the time. But she owned the role despite this blatant favoritism and gave the cast a much needed rounded character who had an arc and clear growth and as more of the circle jerk BS falls to the wayside, people are seeing that, too. It's amazing to me that with all the criticism Jeri got for the role at the time of Voyager (Not to mention the Barbie of Borg and stuff like that), how she is being embraced now by the fandom really does warm my heart. That's a testament to the character and how Jeri portrayed her. Maybe Voyager did become the 7 of 9 show in the end, but upon various rewatches and just with the passage of time, I do think 7 of 9 has become one of the most iconic characters in the franchise. I only wish they hadn't revealed it in the opening credits, but when she beamed aboard, it brought a huge smile to my face.
The episode was good, but Seven was in it for about 8 seconds at the end. It's episode 5 that'll properly feature her.Did anyone watch ST: Picard yesterday with the re-introduction of 7 of 9? If yes, how was the episode?
