I sincerely doubt it, but then I'm not a fan.

Feige isn't like the moronic Sony Execs or Avi Arad.

Yeah, I thought they might make her into a hybrid of the character she played and "Clea" from the comics (IE - she would have become a Sorcerer too.)

That said, maybe he'll meet Clea in The new film.

For the post part it's arm twirls and glowing orange shields and then punch punch with the occasional red rope of magic.
His powers were more interesting in Infinity War than in his own movie.

Specifically the Loki head writer, which can't be a coincidence.

Raimi directed the best adaptation of Spider-Man ever put before a camera, and is actually a longtime, well-schooled fan of comics, so he--more than most MCU directors--is a great choice. This is the most excitement generated by a MCU film is quite some time.

Wow, I had no idea that had happened.
That was Sony not Marvel Studios, and I would think by now anybody getting involved with the MCU would probably know what they're in for.
I did see a rumor somewhere that they were casting for Clea, but I can't remember where. I only got to trustworthy sites like IGN, Io9, and Tor.com, but they still will post stories about stuff coming out of less trustworthy sites.
That was my thought as well, especially since they have already announced that Loki will tie in to Multiverse of Madness. This makes me wonder if they'll be even more closely connected than I expected.

But for the same reasons, the Director will not have full control over what characters show up. Same as what happened with Spiderman 3.
I'm sure Rami knows what he is getting into. I just hope there are no tears before bedtime.

Yeah, nobody cared about Endgame or Far from Home. They were just the biggest movie of all time and the biggest Spidey movie of all time, respectively. Nope, no excitement there!

I don't begrudge Raimi/Spidey fans their love of two mediocre flicks and one pretty decent one, but their holier-than-thou attitude about how Raimi is a brilliant auteur who's on a whole other level than the MCU wimps like Waititi, the Russos, Peyton Reed, Gunn, etc... the guy's only made one movie in the last 11 years, and that was Oz the Unnecessary Prequel. Let's have some perspective, please?

^ I admit I was surprised looking at his filmography recently just how few and far between Raimi’s films have been. Growing up in the 80s and because the Evil Dead films were shot in my backyard (figuratively) in Detroit, MSU and Michigan he was always a local legend.

Your opinion. Endgame had no surprises in it, including Iron Man's death. As for your "biggest Spidey movie"--means what? Quality? I'm not sure if you're counting dollars, but if you are, then that would also mean the Star Wars sequels are the "biggest" SW films based on earnings, when no one in their right mind considers them the best of that franchise.
On that note, Raimi's Spider-Man films are the best adaptation of the character, because the lead actually delivered a Spider-Man that felt so much like the source (unlike Garfield or Holland's films), and that happed because Raimi was such a huge fan of the character/title and put the heart of what worked about the source in his films.

    Neither did Spider-Man or Spider-Man 2.

No, not really. Tobey was more of a mopey sadsack than either Holland or Garfield but that's it.

Ah ha! So you admit that dance sequence in 3 was surprising?

Topher Grace as Venom was certainly unexpected.

I suspect Sam was not expecting to have to put Venom in that film.

IIRC, he wanted someone very much like Peter/Tobey, as oppose to the usual burly type. In that respect, the casting worked, IMHO.

I was thinking he really didn't even want the character itself and that was more a studio decision. I may be wrong about that but I thought that was the case. You are correct it wasn't a typical casting choice.

EDIT: found this, which seems to back up what I remembered
    https://collider.com/spider-man-3-sam-raimi/

Also, with that in mind, has this rumor about Raimi in talks about a new film been confirmed yet?

I mean worked in that he got what he wanted, sure. Otherwise, it really didn't work at all.
