12th fastest movie in domestic box office to hit $500 million...

https://www.the-numbers.com/box-office-records/domestic/all-movies/fastest/fastest-to-500m

The franchise you love isn't on hiatus, they are planning a movie in 2022 or 23, have just finished the first season of The Mandolorian, the seventh season of The Clone Wars is coming soon, there is a Ben Kenobi series on the horizon, talk of remaking Knights of the Old Republic.

So I don't see how everything isn't fine?
It's not fine because its not catering to my wants and wishes. Curse them!

Remember, he hated The Mandalorian because the episodes weren't long enough. The show has its problems for sure, but that seemed like a petty complaint.

You know how I feel about Discovery, but I would be a fool to argue that it is somekind of failure. I know every week there's a YouTuber who tells us all that everything is on fire, that Kurtzman is getting fired tomorrow, that they don't have enough money to finish Picard, and so on. All the while, in the real world, they are working on a couple of animated series, Section 31, supposedly two more live action show.

It just seems like at some point people would figure out what is being stated and predicted by YouTube has no basis in the real world.

That's the kind of crap we were seeing before Episode 7 actually rescued the franchise. We're back to THAT state again.

Mandalorian was nothing more but a social experiment to see if people would accept a 30 minute "feature" show. They did, and we are all the worse for it.

One thing I'll give Mandalorian credit for is that it had a functioning reality distortion field around it, causing people to convince themselves that they are watching something great, when they are watching mediocre spoon fed junk. I feel like the Star Wars movies somehow lost that field.

It'd probably be too short for you, or produced by that evil, evil franchise-destroying witch Kathleen Kennedy, so why would you care?
Cute cartoons are not for me, but that's the kind of content we'll be seeing from now on.

Reality distortion indeed.

Not really, no. We are actually in a place were the franchise is expanding, where they are trying out new ideas and new show concepts. We have actual projects in development, rather than just hoping Lucas decides to move forward.

The Mandalorian isn't for me, but that's fine. Clone Wars wasn't for me, neither was TPM in 3D or the Clone Wars movie. There is still plenty of content for me to consume and enjoy and celebrate with friends and family.

And, if worse comes to worse, I now have nine movies to rewatch and enjoy, instead of 6. :)
Porgs: A Star Wars Story

That's the future.

:p
Don't tell my daughter. She'll demand it.
Cute cartoons are not for me, but that's the kind of content we'll be seeing from now on.
Yup, that Mandalorian looks super cute and cuddly...

almost as bad as making the utter failure of leadership and making it look like there is no problem

You've made a statement about failed leadership... now prove it. She has $5.5 billion dollars of box office receipts across five movies, a hit show that is propping up Disney+ and future plans for the franchise.

You use a lot of words, but don't really seem to know what any of them mean.

Because it doesn't exist save for in the mind of those who hate.
It would be very difficult to argue that Baby Yoda is not the only thing a vast majority of people like about that show.
People still enjoyed it prior to that.

I'm not saying its not a draw but then cute has always been a part of SW so its nothing really new or offensive. My youngest loves R2 and BB8 and Porgs because they are cute.
