And they probably didn't want a one of the shows' main characters to be that antagonistic towards Picard.I doubt it.
The whole point of the scene was that it wasn't Picard's Starfleet anymore. Janeway would've been too close to him.

Don't know why, I just got a Janeway vibe from the character.
If anything, I think you can imagine Janeway dropping an f-bomb fairly easily.Janeway isn't close to Picard though. She had one tiny scene with him in Nemesis.
I agree that the script felt like it was written for Janeway.
Tilly: That's so fucking cool!
Stamets: It is fucking cool.
Clancy: Fucking hubris!
Leah Brahams: So you're the one who's fouled up my engines.
The way Leah says it, that counts as an honorary. We know what she really would've said if the censors would've allowed it.
I think people would be concerned that given our history of wars and holocausts that the AI might conclude that it is humans who need to be disarmed. In any case I am not sure that they will agree to have fewer rights and privileges than the human citizens.

but in this future where humanity is always portrayed as wanting for nothing and wanting peace over conflict, what is the impetus for having an organization that is doing more than intelligence gathering?

Amazon subtitles didn't say "feckers"
With Leah's quote, that makes 5![]()
Jammer's review is up. I agreed with him most of the time in the late-'90s and early-'00s. But nowadays, I agree with him less and less.
Interestingly, many of the posters there see Picard having similarities with Disco, although unlike myself, they aren't pleased about that being so and complaints about CSI styling does seem to be rampant. And there's also a lot of dislike over at IGN. Looks like it's going to take some continued heavy lifting for even Patrick Stewart to carry fandom into the 2020s.
