If that's the case - then his two Romulan House Servants are in on this whole thing, meaning they're part of the 'Cabal' going after her.:vulcan::whistle:
Not necessarily, they would only know that "something" happened to Picard.
They would have to rely on the info given them by whomever brought Jean-Luc home.
Once Picard woke up, they would get his version of what happened.

Laris essentially told him that there was nothing available to confirm his version of the story.
The Police brought him home and said he was the only one found on the roof.

I just watched that scene again (at the 34:00 mark) to get a clearer memory of it.

Zhaban says he took a bad knock, but neither of them mention an explosion.
Obviously the 'Police' didn't mention that.

I thought perhaps her death was another dream, or a symptom of Irumodic syndrome, and she’s actually still alive having run away from Picard Vineyard. The last actual real sighting of her on the show is when she is “FaceTiming” her mother.

Or she is dead and the whole story we saw on screen is true!

I really do not believe this whole series is another "Bobby in the Shower" set up.

What we are seeing is real as far as I'm concerned.

Was there a mother?

Creating a template, being able to figure out what a hundredth of a gram worth of goop will look like in 20 years after it turns into a person, reeks of a mass of illegal genetic engineering...

But he built a robot out of human body parts, and those body parts had to have come from somewhere, if they weren't outright grown from spunk and eggs?

Although considering the mother that we did see, who was complicit in her daughters double identity. I think that mother is an AI governing program, and Dahj was never a child. She just lives out her 20s, gets her memory scrubbed, and then starts over as a 20 year old again.

Two Asian women of consequence on The Enterprise D.

Nurse Ogawa, and Kieko.

Kieko was older and married, so it was more likely that she froze her fertilized eggs, in case of emergency.

The computer on Voyager showed B'Elanna what her baby was going to look like as an adult, so the tech exists. After Data stole and murdered baby O'Brien, forcing a Positronic cloud to use a meat sack as a home, all is good.

I saw Rosiland on the L Word The Q Generation (it a new revival) last week.

The mom might be a digital avatar for Maddox. During their video conversation on the street, her entire image was distorted for a moment, which might have been the comm connection, but also might've been a clue.

I'm sure there will be more clues of how Dahj and Soji were created by Maddox in future episodes.

The painting was from 2369.

Data has had a blue print on how to build Dahj since 2369.

1. Data alone built Dahj near 2369.
2. Data and Maddox built Dahj near 2369.
3. Maddox alone built Dahj after Data died, using the blueprint Data made.

The whole thing is odd. Being exploded by acid spit by a guy is odd (was he just, like, holding it in his mouth the whole time?). The supposed lack of security footage is odd. The fact that Picard was knocked out in San Francisco and woke up in France is odd.

Maybe it's just some weird writing, or maybe the whole thing was faked to cover up her abduction. Maybe Laris and Zhaban are in on it.
I figured the acid was in a fake tooth. Like in spy movies they have they fake molar with cyanide in it so they can’t be captured or when Duke Leto tries to kill the Baron with the poison spray tooth.

I don’t even think it’s connected to a live person, it’s a program like a hologram. Dahj has never actually met her, she’s just implanted memories and she really only talks to her through the PADD. The reason it glitched is because it wasn’t prepared for her to respond like that and it instantly updated.

I don't think an A.I. program would slip up the way she did -- Bringing up returning to Picard, when Dajh had never mentioned the name in the call.

Picard actually seemed to forget about Dahj entirely once he found out about Soji. Like, gee, thanks, are all androids interchangeable to you?

Not at all. The whole point was that he already wasted decades of his life mourning the dead, and that didn't help a single damned person, least of all Jean-Luc himself. The best use of his time was mobilizing to go save the android he knew was still alive. There will always be time for regrets later, after he's made a difference.

Sargon and Company would have really liked this organic android body to inhabit idea....

So would Korby, for that matter.

Talk about flipping TOS android stories on their heads.
