Now I can't not hear that thank you I'm going to throw a random music video here From Voyage Of The Rock Aliens
Heard these two on a radio program: "Excuse me while I kiss this guy" (Purple Haze by Jimi Dendrix) "I can see clearly now Larraine is gone"
From Golden Earring's "Radar Love": The radio's playing some forgotten song Brenda Lee's comin' on strong . . . I always heard that as "friendly ladies coming on strong." Yeah, I wish . . .
Elvis tried to warn us about Santa in "Blue Christmas": From 1:03 to 1:08 you can hear him sing: "You'll be doomed ... when he arrives".
So, now a Chicago song: When I was younger, I was never quite sure what words I was hearing in the chorus. To me it was something like: "I don't like you any more! And not all spirits make you soar!" Always something like that. I never listened closely enough to be sure. Lately, I've had occasion to finally look up the song (The US Army's using it in the background of their new recruiting commercial.) Now I know it's variations on: "Sitting cross-legged on the floor 25 or 6 to 4" 'Course, then i had to look up what the f--- 25 or 6 to 4 meant...
Not exactly a lyric, but I thought I'd share anyway. So I was sort of half-listening to a radio that was in another room. A commercial came on for a new pizza place that had just recently opened in the city. What I thought I heard: "... this week only, build your own self-aware pizza..." I'm not sure what was actually said, but I'm reasonably confident this wasn't it.
And little Early Pearly came by in his curly-wurly I don't know what a curly-wurly is but I'm guessing it's a car.
Excuse me while I touch the sky. I've misheard that line many times. Excuse me while I touch some pie
Original lyrics: "I don't wanna fall in love. If I did that I think I'd have a heart attack." It was background music at my work and I heard her say, "I don't wanna fart out loud" I mean...some of us ladies worry about being heard.
