I had to go and look that one up. I'll never think of tacos the same way again. And funny since taco shell can be used as a euphemism.

Boys only want love if it's Georgia [torture]
Don't say I didn't say I didn't warn ya

Taylor Swift, Blank Space:
Heard Peter Gabriel's "Games Without Frontiers" on the radio today
Hadn't heard it in years, but I was reminded that I used to wrongly believe he was singing "She's so popular" at the start of the song.
It's actually "Jeux Sans Frontieres"![]()
Just on that is there a line in the song that goes?
"Games without frontiers, war without tears" that's what I hear whenever this is on the radio.
Yes
The song is a pastiche (is that the right word) on an old game show which aired in the 70s on BBC1.
Seaside towns from all over the UK would partake in silly games against each other, the winner getting the right to compete in a European version.
There were seven competing countries, GB, D (Germany), B (Belgium), CH (Switzerland), I (Italy), F (France) and NL (Netherlands), each had a home games, the British one was hosted by the highest losing seaside resort from the heats.
All the "silly games" were broadcast live via the old Eurovision Link and several TV Companies were signed up to it.
Gabriel's witty satire saw this as a substitute for war, all done under a fake smile.
The show was called "It's A Knockout" in the UK, but in Europe it had it's own names, most notably "Jeux Sans Frontieres" in French, ie "Games Without Frontiers" (War without tears according to Gabriel)
And the classic, "Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce another runner in the night," as, "Wrapped up like a douche in the middle of the night."
I didn't feel like reading all the way back through, but for the longest time, I thought the part of Purple Haze, "Excuse me while I kiss the sky," was, "Excuse me while I kiss this guy."
....
Same song:And the classic, "Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce another runner in the night," as, "Wrapped up like a douche in the middle of the night."
Same song:
"Little Early Burly gave my anus curly whirly
And asked me if I needed a ride!"
To this day I don't know what they're actually singing and I'm kinda afraid to look it up.
