Kurtzman: DS9 characters could appear in Picard

If there is one character I would love to see back, it's Ezri Dax. I've seen Deboer at the Las Vegas convention and she still looks great. Also, with Rene's death, I could even see Nana Visitor back in Season 2 of Picard giving a tribute to Odo or something. That would be nice.
 
Out of all the characters, I could see Bashir working the best. The actor is still very active and I doubt the character would retire any time soon, especially with his relative importance as a genetically engineered super human and that.

And Section 31?

I can see one of La Sirena crew doign a dodgy deal with Quark. I'd love to see Kira back most, for some reason
 
His "in different ways" comment suggests to me that a DS9 character is going to appear on Lower Decks.

It could also mean that they don't come back in a standard way. We get a new Dax. Maybe we see Section 31 run by an AI Bashir. Perhaps Iggy Pop reprises his role with the latest version of Yelgrun (although I understand his acting chops were limited).

My own hope would be for Michael Burnham to find herself meeting Benny Russell in the 1970s.
 
They'd have a hard time getting the same actors, and I kind of hate seeing a different actor substituting. Perhaps a new Dax. Or a different Sisko, I can see being a prophet would change a person :)

Would love to see Bashir, but they should just pretend the awful genetic engineering subplot never happened. Ugh.

They wouldn't have trouble getting anyone, except Avery Brooks.
 
Chancellor Martok is a possibility. Picard did have the respect of the High Council, and some that were there then could be there still, telling Martok of Picard. Picard may need to ask a favor of them, if Worf is unavailable or not powerful enough in the Empire.

It would be great to see him again.

Hell, ALL of them.
