Spoilers The Mandalorian | Disney+ | Streaming Nov. 12

It’s not just you. I’ve been guilty of it too. And there’s a lot of others too. I would like one thread, though, just ONE THREAD without any of the words I mentioned. Is that possible (he asks directing to all)?

I’m going to say probably not. :p

What’s offensive about striving to not leave people out?
inclusion is fine. But doing it simply to include them is not.

Anyway I would rather talk about the show itself.
And you agree that Baby Yoda is a total Mary Sue for being able to use Force powers as a baby?
maybe .. maybe not. but I like detail about the fact that the creature had to sleep for days after doing it. it's all about execution. Not only is Rey good at the force, but she also exhibits other qualities that makes her better than the other characters. Did Luke or Even Han score perfect shots without a lot of effort while shooting four TIES in Star Wars? Yet Rey shoots three TIES with her first shirt.. one shot.. in TLJ and ends that film all happy. She did not break a sweat lifting two tons of (CGI) boulders to save everyone in TLJ, yet the baby in Mandalorian was unconscious for possibly days after lifting the monster.

But anyway I'd rather talk about SW. I only wrote all that as a response to someone's question

I’m confused about the distinction? How do you know the difference?

And Luke knocked out the Death Star with a single volley and no targeting computer...
yes he did. That was the point of the film. That doesn't mean he was expert in the Force.. he was still training with it long afterwards.. but he did tap into it, knowing that faith, and tapping into this power would allow him to put aside the technology. ARe you really trying to justify sub-par films but trying to lower an all-time classic ?

That was the point of the film.

That we should put everything in the hands of an unknown power? Luke has know about for a couple of days?

That doesn't mean he was expert in the Force.. he was still training with it long afterwards..

No, he wasn't. We see him train for about fifteen minutes. When he returns to Dagobah, Yoda said he was finished and it was pretty clear he had never went back prior.

You realize all these questions have been floating around since A New Hope? People didn't need Rey and company to poke some pretty large holes in the plots of the original trilogy.

The original was 50 minutes per episode (Yes, they had a lot less commercials in those days.)
I watched episodes of some of the older sitcoms, like The Mary Tyler Moore Show, on Hulu a while back, and the episodes were 25 minutes. Some of the modern sitcoms are only 19 minutes.

Nineteen minutes is the current expected length for a sitcom. The current expected length for an epic drama is 1+ hours, and if you are going to be doing significantly shorter that need to be made clear in the advertising.

If Luke was exposed to the power in STar Wars, he might have trying to get in touch with it many times along the way, including evidence in the beginning of Empire. I won't go into how much time he spent on Dagobah, because I don't know.. but we can all agree that this is a question that has always been up for debate.

Wrong on all counts.. but that's ok.

So The Return of the Jedi is wrong?

LUKE
That's right, Artoo. We're going to the Dagobah system. I have a promise to keep... to an old friend.

That promise was made in The Empire Strikes Back when Luke left Dagobah to save Han and Leia.

LUKE
But I've learned so much since then. Master Yoda, I promise to return and finish what I've begun. You have my word.

So Luke spends very little time training and does incredible feats, but isn't a Mary Sue? Most of the things we see him do, retrieve his light saber and blow up the Death Star were done with zero real training. Yet Rey is a Mary Sue for doing pretty much the same exact things.

What a world we live in.

Bill please stop responding to them.
