"no Enterprise" mean it won't appear at all, or just not as the lead ship?
Or is he messing with us? Anyway, the buzz is buzzing...

He sounded pretty sincere to me about there not being any Enterprise physically involved in the show.
I would imagine that it will be at the very least, mentioned a couple of times though.

Suits me just fine. That way we won’t see the Enterprise-E (a design I dislike) or the Enterprise-F (a design I also dislike if they were planning on using the STO version.)

All I'd take from that casual reference is what we already knew, that the Enterprise won't be a regular fixture of the show. That doesn't mean we won't get a tease or two as to its current status.

But we've already seen the hologram in SF Headquarters, so the Enterprise (D) does appear in some fashion. Also, if it's meant to be a surprise to see the E or F, why would he spill the beans on a talk show? He's not under oath.

The other possibility is that it doesn't appear because it was destroyed (e.g. in the armada). Either way, I'm sure it's meant to be kept secret until the reveal.

He's on record as saying that he doesn't want to redo TNG -- something he did thirty years ago.

This again? It's pretty clear ST: Picard is not TNG 2.0. There can be guest appearances of TNG cast members (confirmed), the Enterprise can somehow be featured, even if only in the background, and those aspects don't automatically make the show TNG again.

I can't recall seeing any markings, which I could've missed. So it could be any Galaxy class ship.

I know I'll sound like an a**hole but....

Some hardcore fans will be disappointed. People have ideas in their heads on how they feel Picard should act and behave and think and talk and all. This won't be their image of both the character and the timeframe. And I think the creators are aware of that.

It's 2019. People don't be disappointed. People will hate it with a feverish passion, puking with rage like The Last Jedi but 100x worse. But you know what? They measure popularity by online impressions, whether good or bad. If people are talking - and they will - it'll be seen as a success.

I imagine this won't be Gene Roddenberry/Rick Berman Picard. It's okay, since this takes place twenty years after that version of the character.

People change.

I think the closest comparison will be to Picard in "Family". That being said, I am under no illusion that we'll see the TNG Picard of 30 years ago. Rather, I'm looking forward to reuniting with this old friend to see where life has taken him.

I'm disappointed that the thing is being made at all. Pretending it's still the 80s is only marginally less embarrassing than pretending it's still the 60s.

That doesn't even make sense. They said they're not making Picard as if it were another TNG. I get that you're against this at every turn, but at least criticize the show for what it is, not what they've gone out of their way to say it's not.

And if they are - they can lay the blame on Patrick Stewart as much as the rest of the creative staff as he had A LOT of input in the Writing Room. They pretty much did it the way he wanted.

This is true.

This is also true. But personally, I'm not worrying that much.

sadly I doubt that’ll matter. The same thing can be said about Discovery. TOS happens a decade after it’s time, things and people change. Didn’t make a difference to the complaining
