Rian Johnson trilogy canceled

I think 10 year hiatus is also unrealistic but I could see it going away for 4 to 5 years in terms of the movies. I think the tv shows don't have anything to worry about and actually see even more of them during a year.

Jason

Reminder: I really liked tlj. I wanted rian Johnson's trilogy. Im not celebrating anything, just living in reality.

As a culture, we’ve become far more divided in opinions. Not to mention the fact that negativity is what draws people in these days. We’re a culture of negativity. Far more than we were back in 2005. And it doesn’t help that people will believe what they want.

Gone are the days when movies were seen as relatively impartial. Sci-fi franchises and I suppose movies in general, are the latest front in the ongoing Culture War. People have become polarised and everything is black and white. You can no longer have disagreements without people slinging accusations of 'SJW's' and 'Bigots' and dehumanising one another. Neither side is listening to the other and everyone has forgotten that these are just movies. Sadly it's only going to get worse before it gets better.

Agreed.

TLJ revived my faith after TFA, and I really enjoyed Rogue One, but it's back to JJ to finish it off - I'm hardly optimistic.

Maybe it's best to stick to TV in future.

Maybe. But at the moment there’s little there to truly suggest that Star Wars is done on the big screen. Feige is still producing a film. Despite what some suggest, Johnson is still working on his movies. Until we get real news, there’s nothing to suggest otherwise.

Well we are less than five years away from the Bell Riots, which are suppose to be a major turning point in how society looks at itself in America. We don't have Sanctuary Districts, yet. However we have Sanctuary Cities (such as San Francisco), most of which don't care for the current President's policies.

What exactly is it you believe?
what do you mean. The Disney SW ruined three trilogies and split the fanbase and SW is in a sorry state right now. Him and maw all you want but that is what is happening.

I just heard they got Glover to play Lando ina new show.. because they have no ideas

They’ve released four movies, three of which have went over a billion dollars. Only in Bizarro world is that a “sorry” state.

Feeling the movies are not going in the direction someone wants is one thing. Being in denial that they are successful is just silly.

God, I feel like a broken record.
