No I didn't. I just want to finish the game and maybe try again with a new game.

I've just finished a replay of MDK and Half Life: Blue Shift. Now to start with Black Mesa (the source engine remake of Half Life).

Honestly, while 2 got lots of praise, I think much of it has to do with how much it improved on the gameplay of the first game, but on the whole, coming at it much later, I was left feeling disappointed. It doesn't help that I felt that after all the buildup throughout the game, that I felt shortchanged at the end. It's such a tease. The first game had a standalone game with closure, but this one ends on a cliffhanger. This is why I felt Brotherhood and Revelations to be better games. In Brotherhood, it's essentially a direct continuation that should have been part of the main narrative of the first game. I guess they felt the game was too long though and split it. And other than that, I found they were much more fun than the actual sequel. Thematically, I feel Revelations is more of a true sequel to 2, as it's a followup to Ezio in his later life with a change in location.

That sounds like a gamestate wasn't triggered properly. Those kinds of things tend to happen more often in open-world games due to their complexity, but they can almost always be fixed by either closing the game down and restarting it, or reloading the save. A few things like that happened to me in RDR2. If it's being correctly detected by the game as completed, then the mark should disappear on reload.

I'll have a look at that. But this time around it's the GOG versions of the games I am playing not the steam versions.

I just got the game DEFCON...... You can blow up the world. It's like the computer sim from the movie Wargames but better.

    Yeah, well bugs happen. ;)

On my PS4, I'm currently playing God of War, and I'm having a great time with it! Combat feels good and I'm enjoying the exploration along the way.

I'm really enjoying Borderlands 3. I'm not sure how far I am into it, but I'm a Level 24 Moze. There's been a couple of bosses give me grief that I've rage quit a couple of times, but the next day, I rethink my weapon and shield load out, then handily kick the boss' ass (not easily, mind you, these bosses put up quite a fight, especially in single player!)

I was in the mood to start another game, so I started playing the 2016 Ratchet and Clank reboot/movie game.

I'm currently playing through GUN, one of the few Western games on the PC. It's dated, and the controls are terrible, but I'm liking its simplicity. Managed to get it into Widescreen 1920x1080 and it plays pretty good.

    I'm playing Ion Fury.

Who doesn't love 90s style graphics in a 2019 game?

    It's actually fun

I tried the demo for the Medievil remake yesterday, and I couldn't figure out how the hell to get out of the crypt where it starts. I gathered up everything in the crypt, and walked through the door with the green smoke around it and nothing happened. I tried all of the buttons, and searched the crypt about 2 or 3 times to make sure I didn't miss anything, but nothing would work.

I’m playing Valkyria Chronicles 4. I just got to chapter 17.

So, this is a Japanese game, in a war similar to WW2. The protagonists are part of a Democratic Federation, fighting against a totalitarian empire, and are currently trying to end the war by detonating a weapon of mass destruction in an area with millions of civilians.

Wow. And this storyline was written by Japanese people.

Since they used the PAL edition (grr), here's the natural speed intro in its NTSC counterpart:

    ("NERRRRRRRRRD!")

    (now there's a joystick I wouldn't mind getting a high score with...)

Oh good lord that poor computer..... Looked pretty trashed. Glad that among that damage the board itself wasn't damaged beyond a few bits and bobs.

Either was in the wrong angle when smashed into a dumpster, or a former owner slammed it deliberately. Either way, the restoration was phenomenal. Especially with how they filled in the broken off areas and matched the textures!

Well the guy had mad skills. Much kudos to him.

I had a Tandy 1400 in very dire condition. I just didn't have the skills to repair the cosmetic damage when I had that one or even now. All I could do was use it as a parts source.

I'm currently playing Far Cry 5. Just bought it on Steam a week ago. Isn't it a bit too late?
I also play Civ 5, almost everyday. :D
