Hmm, it's been a while but wasn't TOS remastered out of order for broadcast?

Taken completely out of context, in that still Spock looks like he's about to punch Sulu in the chops.

So I was lucky enough to attend my 6th Star Trek: Las Vegas convention last week, but this one had a personal pride moment unlike any other I've attended. A few months back, after I completed my work on the Refit Enterprise bridges, @Rick Sternbach contacted me and asked if he could use some pictures from my TMP Enterprise bridge in his slideshow for the TMP 40th Anniversary panel at STLV. I, of course, jumped at the opportunity. He explained to me that they'd just be used as reference, since it's hard to find clear shots of the bridge without people or behind-the-scenes photos that are crisp and vivid.

Anyway, I actually got to shake hands with him before the panel where he thanked me. He's a super nice guy and it was an honor to have a man that has done so much great work for the franchise use my renders to help talk about his experiences working on TMP.

I took photos from my phone of all of his slides, and figured the readers of this thread might appreciate me sharing.

    Talking about the bridge ceiling:

Showing the madness that existed behind the science console:

Using my render to demonstrate the unbroken wall of consoles on the starboard side of the bridge:

Showing his work on the weapon's station, first with my render and then with BTS photos:

Showing some of his graphic design work, working in tandem with Lee Cole:

Telling the story about how he had to arrive to the set one morning to give James Doohan a rundown of how to operate the travel pod:

I didn't know he's the guy responsible for designing those overhead corridor displays!

And he provided the graphics on the containers and the Cyrogenics labels on the cryo-storage unit that was part of the sickbay set (and the transporter room set in TWOK)
And a concept I'd never seen before of the engineering revamp from Phase II to TMP!

Glad to hear you got to meet him. Rick's a good guy. I took him to lunch in June In Culver City and finally got to pay him back for help me gave me 26 years ago on the Sega Genesis DS9 game I was working on.

That's a cool thing. Did you bug him for a copy of those travel pod plans? :)

Oh my GOD Maurice I would have totally fanboyed out and embarrassed myself if I'd been in your shoes. Rick's illustrations for the 1980 Star Trek Spaceflight Chronology book were pure gold. To this very day I still have that book in my collection, and I totally would have asked him to sign it if I'd been there. I am pea-green with envy.

Wow Donny...what an incredible honor! I'm so happy for you and that you had this grand opportunity to interact with so many people involved in the making of the movie. I'm intrigued by Sternbach's engine room painting as I've never seen this before!

    Very cool, Donny. Congratulations!

But ... I'm sure I'm not the only one dying to know: Did Michael Chapman ever make it to the Registration Desk?

Well, I meant so that you could model it. Or have you already?

That in itself could have been used as a set--for a primitive, nuclear pulse orion harness or something.
