OK, so this is coming back then. I hadn't seen anything about a new season and was starting to think it was canceled.

Nope -- after its third season in 2017, it was renewed for its final two seasons simultaneously, so this concluding season was guaranteed to happen. It's just that it has 10-episode seasons, so the interval between them is necessarily going to be around 42 weeks.

Ah, that must be why I never heard about it being renewed for a new season, then.

They also shot the seasons back to back, so they finished shooting this one before last one finished airing, so you wouldn't have even heard about them going back to filming. :D

Good to hear. I'd been wondering when the last season would finally be available. :)

iirc there were some links in the S3 thread about the filming being under way and when they wrapped the series but that's fallen in to the depths of history so no surprise people had forgotten or weren't aware.

I watched that trailer, and I was thinking to myself "where the hell did that last season even end? who was doing what and what needs to be resolved?"

I feel like episode 1 needs a really long "last time on Killjoys" to refresh my memory. I want to say they're inside the green, but I don't know who, how many, and what the motives are.

I totally agree! Something about "the lady", another reality...? Who died and who is still around? Where is Dutch? Who is Dutch? I just don't remember what is what.

Guess who's back tonight...

Holy shit, it's tonight?! I thought it wasn't going to be until the regular fall season.

Why would you think that? Every previous season has premiered in June or July.

article from the Toronto Star on the final series of Killjoys and how the show started out as a procedural and then turned into something completely different.

That's pretty much what most shows do these days. Execs love procedurals, so tons of shows start out looking like procedurals and then work in more arc/serialization as they go. Heck, even Orphan Black pretended to be a cop show for about its first four episodes.

I think that I tend to watch more of Syfy's summer shows than their fall shows. I guess I've gotten used to thinking of it as the network that gives me stuff to watch during the break in the main networks' seasons.

A pretty interesting start to the season. I honestly didn't recognize the altered Pree at first, because he looks so different with normal hair. :rommie:

It's the beard-hair combo methinks. If it was only one thing it would have been easier to recognize him.

Bit of a slow setup episode, but fun nonetheless. I liked the bits with Dutch and Johnny being totally inept at Killjoying. :D
