I don't know if it would really be possible, but I was thinking it would be a fun little twist if it actually turned out they actually sent the Terminators back in the reverse of the order they arrived in. Either that, or all at the same time.

There is no time past the point of time where a traveler leaving the present and subsequently arriving in the past. If you can't retain old time lines or create new time lines.

Sky net didn't send 3 Terminators back in time. 3 different Skynets sent 1 Terminator back in time. When the resistance sent Kyle back, they must have misunder stood that because they could see that there were Terminators in the past that it was their Skynet who sent them all back in time to the 20th century?

Do they ever address the timeline of when the different Terminators were sent back? Were they all sent back one after the other in the order we see them in the movies?
The only one I've seen more than once is T2, and even with that one I don't remember the specifics very well.

The script for T2 there's a whole extended future war sequence that was cut. Basically it happened literally right at the end; John leads a team into the time displacement complex and they find the chamber next to racks and racks of T-800's, with the last one missing, having already gone through. IIRC is fades out with him staring into the eyes of the next one in line, ie: "Uncle Bob". And we know it's right at the end since you can hear over the radio that the Colorado complex has been destroyed...plus Kyle says so in T1.

In a comic book written by J Michael Stavinski, Skynet was playing Possum, until Kyle was sent back to knock up Sarah. Once that happened, it was free to stop genociding Humanity left handed.

Thanks for sharing that. I would have loved to see that sequence as part of the movie, but I understand why it was dropped. I remember reading about how T2 was the most expensive movie ever made (at that time).

It would be cool if some enterprising young producer/director/artist recreated this sequence as a CGI animated short. Obviously the creator wouldn't be able to make any money off of it due to copyright laws and such, but it might be a good way to freely promote his/her/their talents.

I've always lamented the fact that they didn't at least film the live action unit of the extended future war before cutting it. I'd love to have seen it, and you never know...they could have done the effects portions years later to make money on a more special Special Edition.

Curse them planning well to save costs. (Even though they did go way over budget in the end anyway.)

Pretty much. Indeed, if you think it through it looks like the T-1000 was sent first, and when that didn't work, Skynet sent a T-800 back even earlier (because it only had the one T-1000, what with it being a prototype and all.) I mean logically, it'd send it's most advanced unit first, right?
One assumes the plan from then onwards was to just keep firing off T-800's into various points in the past until one hit it's target and changed the timeline, but it only managed to power up the chamber twice before TechCom smashed the defence grid.

That would be my guess as well, though as @Guy Gardener stated, it wasn’t one Skynet sending Terminators back, it was numerous Skynets. I suppose that each incursion into the past altered the future in slight or profound ways. I’m not sure if future events were altered already in T2, but from T3 onwards there’s definitely changes to the date of Judgement Day, Skynet’s capability at producing more advanced machines, etc...

Although I don't really think a boycott ever works. If a movie they are boycotting does happen to tank, that's more of a coincidence...it's just that a lot of other people who aren't deranged couldn't be bothered going to see it.

was Captain Marvel, but it was seen as a warmup act for Endgame, hence its box-office. The Terminator halo is not nearly as strong so this movie needs to stand on its own. It's not going to be a hit by simply tending to the ideological checklists of The Mary Sue readers.
