Who is the Star Trek: Picard Showrunner?

Wasn’t Chabon originally supposed to be the showrunner? Then they kind of backed off of that? Maybe he got cold feet at first, but is now comfortable?

Best possible outcome, IMHO. At least from a writerly standpoint. Remains to be seen if he'll be good at the visual/managerial aspects of showrunning.

Kurtzman wasn't the worst possibility though. Goldsman was.

It's funny. Back when I was an editorial assistant at William Morrow, I remember everyone being all excited by this hot new literary author, Michael Chabon, whose first novel, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, was getting a lot of buzz.

Jump ahead thirty years and he's running a new STAR TREK series. Didn't see that coming. :)
.

Mysteries is my first and favorite Chabon novel, followed by The Amazing Adventures of Kavliar and Clay. Of course, he’s my favorite author so I’ve pretty much read them all.

I've taken Nerdrotic off my feed. I did the same to Midnight's Edge a few months ago. Hopefully, there's no third channel I need to eliminate. I'm not seeing anything else on my YouTube page that's making me cringe, due to spreading intentionally false information.

I pretty much don't use YouTube for any Star Trek news. It's absurd the level of false information out there.

Mysteries of Pittsburgh the queer-themed novel we did in my Minority Lit class way back in 1990. So, over the decades, when Chabon projects would get covered in the geek press, I'd get this little buzz of "Hey, I remember when . . . "

And nope, I never predicted he'd be involved with or running a STAR TREK project, either.

Kurtzman is in charge of the entire Star Trek franchise. He is not the showrunner for all the shows.

Most likely, Chabon was the intended showrunner for a while but due to his lack of experience in showrunning, he shadowed Kurtzman. Melissa Paradise also lacks showrunning experience therefore for Discovery season 3, she will be showrunning with Kurtzman. By season 4 of Discovery, it will just be her.

Kurtzman is not being replaced at all.

I just saw Alex Kurtzman panhandling under a bridge. Like and subscribe!

Man, imagine if YouTube had existed back when TNG was new. Or DS9 or Voyager or Enterprise. There's always been fandom bitching, but it was mostly text-based. Now you get to actually hear the fandom bitching if you really want to.
