Kurtzman Out?

Why would anyone test screen something like this without 95% finished VFX? The premise of the rumor is absurd on every dimension. Test screenings less than 2 months into production, firing the executive producer and replacing him with the actual people running the show, 80% negative and nonsense syntax about the 20% being Abrams fans like it. I can fart more credible rumors than this.

Star Trek = The Apprentice...... Your Fired!
If this rumor turns out to be true, it sure wont surprise me. Its called cause and effect or you reap what you sow.
Oh the consequences of not listening to the overwhelming audience.
I still cant figure out why Netflix, opted out of Star TP? I mean the hit STD was such a money maker for them. Some people just have no sense of good and bad. Go figure.

As much as I don't like direction Kurtzman is taking the franchise, there is no way that CBS would fire anyone after test screenings.

However, Buechler’s insider notes the show is not screening well. His insider tells him the show has “75 to 80% negativity. The 20% who tested positive were people who labeled themselves Abrams fans like it.”

Now this is some BS if there ever was any. :D

Also, in order to have any screenings you need to have some episodes completed and canned. I don't think any have been completed yet? At least I don't think it's been reported as such

This is the EXACT same type of BS being foated before the first episode of ST: Discovery ever aired (It's probably by the very same people too)... IE prior to Discovery they were claiming:

- CBS and Netflix Execs were livid; and Discovery was so bad, they were considering not airing any of it and scrambling for a replacement...

- Nicholas Meyers "Khan" miniseries was being rushed/fast tracked into development...

- Netflix was threatening to pull out of the funding arrangement and wanted more input into the direction/development of any future Star Trek series...

Also, there's NO WAY that IF Kurtzman were actually fired, he could/would remain on the lot as the source claims in the article:
The rumor comes from Gary Buechler aka Nerdrotic. Buechler notes a Star Trek insider contacted him and told him, “Kurtzman has been fired. He is refusing to give up the title but there are 3 producers who have taken over as showrunners.”

The source adds, “He has been replaced. He is refusing to lose the title but there are three other producer who are exercising his functions. He is not even allowed on set. He has been Orci’ed.”
^^^
yeah, right - I'd say Nerdrotic needs to cut back on his intake of magic mushrooms. ;)

Define “overwhelming audience.”

You want "sources?" Well, it's far from impossible that some executives aren't happy with early footage from Picard. These days, in fact, it seems almost de rigueur. Everything beyond that is probably people playing telephone and wishful thinking on the part of the idiotic self-appointed spokespeople for "fandom" who seem to sprout new "media news websites" as prolifically as zucchini.*

*But much harder to digest.

Why do these rumours gain so much traction? There is a set of YouTubers, who seemingly lean right and hate women/diversity, who play to an audience and tells them what they want to hear. Discovery has been in big big big big big trouble for three seasons now. They all look the same, fat guys in their 30s who have a ton of childrens toys in the background and seemingly no attention from anywhere but hte internet.

People believe them. I actually saw a post I think on reddit from somebody who believed cnn/msnbc/fox/abc news were all liars and YouTube was where to find the truth.

The youtubers just want clicks and the more provocative they can be the more they get. They are the modern equivalent of Howard stern or jerry springier.

I think a lot of YouTubers end up believing what they pedal.

I've seen it with so many who started off small, especially when it comes to politics. YouTube comment and viewers seem to lean right for the most part.

When we have real solid information, i.e. Kurtzman actually being fired and not turning around and suing for breach of contract (5 year deals tend to be tight) then I'll believe it. Other than that, this is nothing more than wishful thinking, especially given Kurtzman's tenure just really starting.

Also, unless we get numbers from Netflix and CBS and how they negotiate their streaming contracts any speculation on the deal is just that-speculation.
