I believe it's one of his favorite episodes, along with TNG's Yesterday's Enterprise.

I hope not. We've already had that story.

He did, it basically consists of "Hey, remember Star Trek? When Kirk asked Scotty for more power...well, I need you to get me more power." which is pretty basic stuff. That said, is anyone actually questioning his Trek nerd credentials?

I would probably prefer Ridley Scott or James Cameron Trek to Tarantino. Or Stanley Kubrick when he was around. But Ill watch this if it's made. If it's "wrong", it's wrong. But maybe not. We'll see.

I don't care, they're trying something new with the movies and that's a good thing in my view.

As much as I enjoyed Beyond, I thought it was fantastic, the tent pole era seems to be coming to an end unless you're Marvel.

Kinda curious how long it's gonna be until the MCU implodes. After Endgame's finalness and the Disney+ direction they're taking some of the surviving characters, it'll be interesting to see what kind of numbers the next few movies do.

I mean, shit has just escalated and escalated and escalated. Are they really gonna be able to go back to relatively low key movies like Iron Man 1 and Captain America to rebuild?! After End Game, I felt mostly "done".

If they open the multiverse up, cull the number of movies to a smaller number,it could go on a lot longer.

We still haven't got a Great Lakes Avengers movie.

Moon Knight, the Fantastic Four (would be so hilarious to bring Chris Evans back as Torch "Hey.. did you know you look a lot like.." "YES"), Spider Gwen. Personally I'd love for them to try using some of those forgotten 80's New Universe titles as a movie or two: Psy Force was meant to be cinematic. I think there's plenty of life left in MCU. It can change to fit the times.

Sony Pictures intersests me with going in on making a Valiant Comics movie series. I used to read Valiant and a couple of other VC titles, though not very regularly. im curious about how they'll handle it.

Profanity you say, I certainly hope to hear 'Quadruple dumbass on you' if that is the case.

I'll take "Double dumb ass," Spock not understanding "colorful metaphors," Kelvin Kirk's "Bullshit" and the like over this scene any day...

People saying Tarantino isn't fucking right for Star Trek
For fuck sake, has any Star Trek movie been fucking right ?
Give the guy a fucking chance to do it right or fuck it up, what's the harm ?
For the record, I think Tarantino is a cock, but he does do blood, gore, and profanity well.
(Read that in a Steve Buscemi voice)

Not to be negative, but profanity does have its place in the Star Trek universe. From Tilly's exuberant F-bomb, to Kelvin Kirk's lyrical listenings, to older Kirk's confused attempt, to Picard's literal French, to Data's attempt at a last word, to Worf's near-constant Klingon insults, we've seen profane utterings in all eras, and multiple cultures, from multiple characters.

But if he's doing a time travel movie, I hope the dialogue genius remembers the original Star Trek IV's conceit that language in the 23rd century was more elitist, and utilize the explicit terminology as a dividing line between clashing cultures. Kirk and Spock are familiar with profanity in the same way I'm familiar with Elizabethan Thees and Thous.

And if I were to find myself mystically transported to the 16th century, I would probably overuse the Thees and Thous.

Kirk was a Starfleet brat too. He grew up in colonies and presumably starbases as well. While he witnessed thousands of people being vaped by Kodos without one expletive being uttered, Tilly clearly comes from a different background (as does Kelvin Kirk, for that matter) where f-bombs are a regular thing, even though its still understood not to say them in polite company, or in front of superior officers.

Data does say 'oh shit' when the Enterprise D is crashing, so clearly he doesn't find that bit of French archaic.

Yes? They're not the greatest movies in the world. Neither are Tarantino's movies, incidentally. But several of them have been great Star Trek movies, at least as much as the budget allowed.

He does do that. He also does rampant misanthropy behind every scene, and a world of moral repugnance (just in varying degrees) in every character, which is just not what I want to see in Star Trek.

Well if he is indeed being allowed to touch anything Trek then i will be steering clear of anything he is involved in, guy just makes my skin crawl period after his whole Polanski defence rant back in 2003....and that is just my personal view about this guy.
