What grade would you give the Marvel Cinematic Universe? (Ever-Changing Question)

The rumor mill is active again, although the source here is dubious as MCU Cosmic has been hit-and-miss in its accuracy.

That said, the rumor that Power Pack is in active development for either the big screen or Disney+ is not an unreasonable one as Power Pack has been on the drawing boards for Marvel ever since Marvel Studios was founded. I think Disney+ is the right format to use.

Power Pack strikes me as something that would work better in animation, unless they wanted to age up the kids to adolescence.
 
Side note: Not sure I'd call this film a "prequel", much less a "prequel within a prequel". To my way of thinking a prequel has to have a solid story link to the plot of an already existing story, not just set earlier in the timeline. I mean CA:TFA wasn't in any real sense a prequel to 'Iron Man' or 'Thor', was it? Nor do I think was 'Captain Marvel' a prequel to 'Endgame' since aside from Carol being in both, there's no substantive link to the plot and I imagine the same will be true of the 'Black Widow' movie.

I know this is hair splitting and not exactly vital, but it's kind of a pet peeve of mine when terms get improperly or loosely thrown around. Words mean thing after all.

On the other hand I don't think there is a specific word for "story that takes place earlier than others and centres around an important character in an entirely separate narrative that nevertheless speaks to their character development and motivations."

Well, that would still depend on what the story of this movie is, though. It absolutely could be a prequel (for instance to BW's story in EG) in some way. Unless you have some information I don't.

I think it's a safe assumption it's going to be a flashbacky origin story nested in a more contemporary narrative. Adding a direct tie-in to EG on top of that would probably be way too cumbersome.

But her story in Endgame was all about who she is and how the Avengers is the only family she's ever known. A flashback origin story nested in a post Civil War storyline could easily line up with that perfectly (which doesn't mean it will, necessarily, but it's entirely plausible). Doesn't have to reference anything in EG directly to provide a clear through-line for her character which leads directly to her actions in EG.
 
This is really more a side story than anything else. Unless characters introduced in it will somehow factor into later MCU films.

Sure, but as I said, for me what makes something a prequel is being a direct prelude to the plot or overarching narrative. Without getting into spoilers: as big a part as Nat was in Endgame, it wasn't about her anymore than it was about Scott, Bruce or even Nebula. It doesn't matter to the plot of Endgame why and how Nat ended up where she did, it only matters that she was there and did what she did.

To give an example: 'Rogue One' is a prequel to ANH because the larger events of the former directly sets up the events of the latter, even though neither movie shares any characters in a central role (yes-yes, Tarkin, Vader & Leia, but they're not central, they're bit players and supporting characters at best.)
Compare that to 'Solo' which (IMO) is *not* a prequel because the plot and narrative has nothing directly to do with the plot and narrative of ANH, despite sharing two central characters. It doesn't matter to ANH how Han & Chewie met or where Han got his DL-44 from. It only matters that they're there.

From what little I know of the Power Pack, they seem like they would be a better fit for a Disney+ series than a movie. I know they have aliens and superpowers in their stories, but most of them sound fairly small scale, compared to groups like the Avengers or the X-Men, and they probably don't have the kind of draw characters like Spider-Man or Captain America do.
 
There are also some alleged new "leaks" from the "Roger Wardell" individual that previously leaked accurate details about Endgame. The Independent reported on a GameFAQs discussion thread that claimed to be breaking these leaks, which all sound credible. However, the actual Roger Wardell Twitter account doesn't contain any of this and the YouTube video linked in the discussion thread (nor the thread itself, apparently posted by the video's creator) doesn't specify how they came to this information beyond citing Wardell (I didn't listen to the full thing, only the first few minutes so it's possible this is stated later).

Anywho, here are the alleged leaks, for those curious:

[Wardell] says that, going forward, the series will present “mini-arcs” as opposed to a decade-spanning saga and that there will be a clear divided between the characters based on Earth and those based on other planets.

If Wardell is to be trusted, the recurring villain for the former will be Norman Osborn, who is expected to be introduced in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

The leak claims that Black Widow will star Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, who will be introduced as the new version of Scarlett Johansson’s character while Richard Madden will take the lead role of Ikaris in Chloe Zhao’s The Eternals.

According to Wardell, Michael B Jordan will somehow return in Black Panther 2.

Some of those films have been officially announced, while some others are natural expectations.

Florence Pugh being cast in Black Widow was previously announced, although not her character as yet. Similarly, it's been known since early May that Richard Madden was in talks to join The Eternals.

Earlier this year Angela Bassett and her husband Courtney Vance apparently revealed that Michael B. Jordan would be returning for BP2.

All of this to say... If the guy behind this video isn't just making up new "leaks" from Roger Wardell, a lof of this seems to track with stuff we've already known or expected. On the other hand, if he is making it up for whatever reason, then it still tracks close enough to information previously leaked so as to be credible.
