    Headcanon accepted.

    Admirals log (retired) Stardate 3.14159
I have found the head of a Soong type android buried in my vinyard.
    Also Spot is dead.
I will return to Starfleet to avenge them both - SHUT UP WESLEY!

    Riker: "Will sir. Not Wesley."

[Later, at a Vinters Association Meeting]
From Chatau Picard, a delightful new wine: Positronic Noir

Yeah, only Geordi and Worf were left after Nemesis. Beverly was supposed to head Starfleet Medical but that was cut out of the movie.

I'm pretty sure one of the announced cast members will be revealed as Picard's kid.

    Lesley Crusher lives!

I must defer to your extensive knowledge of 25th century viticulture. :)

The show is going to address the long standing feud between Star Trek fans and wine connoisseurs.

Hang on, do we know it's water? Looks like space duster to me...

There was never any onscreen confirmation of Earth year correlation to stardate, period. However, I do concede Spock Prime said he was 129 years from the future, and the correlation between Kirk's age points to 2387.

Now Iā€™m officially hyped. Beautiful trailer... They better not screw this up. Still coping with the trauma i got with the last Indiana Jones movie...

It's being watered with time crystal infused protowater. It grows backward from a hangover into grapes. If you can halt the process early on you get a fine wine..

but only at a terrible cost

I refer you to "Let that Be your Last Battlefield" for on the nose.

As you state, on the nose was baked in since the beginning.

I liked the teaser. It asks a bunch of questions I have, which means we'll probably get answers for that stuff. I really can't wait for this show.

    It's not water. It's nanoprobes.

At Chateau Picard, we add our distinctiveness to your own. Our wine will adapt to service the customer.

If this series can avoid the Klingons at all costs (Other than maybe Worf), that's already a win. I'm tired of the Klingons and have always found the Romulans and Cardassians much more interesting.

I think it's a combination of Tone and Nostalgia. There felt like a more positive, contemplative tone with this trailer, and one of the issues I have with Discovery is it doesn't really feel optimistic enough. Also, people love Picard and Patrick Stewart so maybe they are a lot more forgiving on this series than if it was with a new cast.

Completely agree. Klingons are tired (despite DSC's efforts I'm still over them) and want more of the Romulans, please.
Nostalgia covers a multitude of sins.

Spock's ship also gives "Stardate 2387" as it's commissioning year. The evidence is incontrovertible.

Admiral Norah Satie brought down Picard. He returned the favor by planting her under his vines.
