At this rate, the only person who'll be willing to put up with Alec is the psychiatrist he so desperately needs.

I just can't wrap my mind around people still willingly giving money to an obvious conman.

Because people in fan films do fan films. Good people will lend their talents because that's what they love to do. It's not so difficult to understand.
Sure, but you would think anyone associated with other fan films would not want to go near anything associated with Axanar after all the damage Peters and Co. have done.

The damage that is so obvious to you and me is not so readily apparent to many of the people to whom he’s appealing. Hence why I haven't given up AxaMonitor.
"Disruptive innovation. ... In business theory, a disruptive innovation is an innovation that creates a new market and value network and eventually disrupts an existing market and value network, displacing established market-leading firms, products, and alliances".
Perhaps we could rewrite this to fit fan films but for now consider Walmart or latter Amazon, you hate the fact that the local shop is no longer in business but we learn to push a button and our desires magically appear at our doorsteps.
Now consider if you wake one morning to discover the Walmart's and Amazon's have failed. 95 percent of the population wouldn't know who to blame when there is nowhere within 50 miles to buy your morning bacon and eggs.
I believe Axanar set themselves up to be the disruptive force in fan films, at least it seemed that way to me at the time but now they failed and all we can do is suck it up and rebuild.

Axanar — and its supporters — fell for its own hype about being a disruptive force as a fan production offering a less expensive way of making content fans want. It left out the reality that of course it's cheaper when you don't pay for a license by stealing intellectual property and taking advantage of cast and crew's love of a franchise you don't own to pay them far less than what they would normally command. Such a model is inherently flawed and unsustainable.

And don’t even get me started on the unlicensed merchandising …

Unfortunatly there are lots of people able to convince people to donate to crazy ideas.

My two favorites are

- The Air Umbella - Make $100k
- Solar Roadways $2.2M

Yeah, there's never been a shortage of snake-oil salesmen, even in the modern age, nor has there ever been a shortage of poor, naive suckers who continue to support them, despite clear evidence of fiduciary malfeasance.

Part 2 : Time... Goes By... So Slowly... And Time Can Do So much... Are You Still Miiiiiiiiiiineeeeeeeee

Maxwell Smart - Would you believe 2020 ?
Sigfreid - I find that hard to believe
MS - How about 2025 ?
Sigfreid - I still find that hard to believe
MS - The 12th of forever ?

There should be a way to make this quote a sticky post that couldn't be deleted on any forum/blog where the cult of Axanar rules! ;)

I would sticky just the post if I could!

And that's it in a nutshell. Entertainment is pretty damned cheap when you don't pay anybody. Gee, why doesn't everything work that way!

The cleaner at the company I used to work for liked to say that she would only get payed on the 50th of the month. You can see why I no longer work there. Actually, the boss of the company was pretty similar to Peters. All talk and nothing else, while spending the money on himself instead of the staff. When I left he even threatened to sue me.

In AxaMonitor Daily's late edition May 15:
Two new fronts have opened in Axanar producer Alec Peters’ legal wars. Legal papers filed this week in Nevada and Iowa feature a couple old names you’ll recognize as Peters’ legal bluster against former Axanar director Robert Meyer Burnett may be backfiring on him.

These new cases — backed up by actual evidence filed in court, unlike Peters’ claims against Burnett — threaten Peters with tens of thousands in damages. He may even lose some of his vaunted props collection. Read the preview, or sign up for AxaMonitor Daily.

When is the go fund me for axanar legal bills? Before lanes fundraiser or after? So many fundraisers needed. They better schedule it well.
