True. We tried to use the DVR feature on Hulu Plus a couple of times, and it liked to skip and freeze. Honestly, I was kind of okay with not keeping Hulu Plus because the guide is just a mess for me. They say it's great, but I find it slow and confusing at times.Oh yeah, been there. And the DVR isn't perfect either. I still got to see the end, but the recording skipped a couple of minutes during the climax.
Argh! So, I let the show play in the background again...stayed up for it. I managed to get to the one commercial break that I hung on for awhile before. It hung for me again, but eventually I got through it.
Right around when Ed was opening up a bottle at the bar on The Orville, a thing came up on the bottom (even though there were like 13 more minutes on the guest pass!) saying Gotham was going to start in 30 seconds. There was no way to stop it. I paused, and The Orville teed up again with no progress bar.
I give up. It doesn't seem like I'm missing much.
Edit: In past episodes, I haven't been able to use the progress bar for a short period of time close to broadcast. I think Fox does this to ensure that no one actually skips ahead while the show is in live broadcast in order to spoiler the ending for everyone else. But it seems like whoever's job it was to fix this was asleep at the wheel.
Maybe there aren't that many Xelayans in the Union fleet, but Alara was so good that just about any captain would react that way?Talia was only on the Orville at Ed's insistence of having another Xelayan security officer when Alara left, a lot of "just happened to..." would need to occur for Talia to end up on the Orville too from whomever got the ship instead of Ed.
She is good to have around on away missions, too. I mean, who suspects the diminutive, quiet officer of being the head of security and capable of ripping your legs off of you and beating you with them?Maybe there aren't that many Xelayans in the Union fleet, but Alara was so good that just about any captain would react that way?
A popular thing to do right now is to send the executives at FOX a jar of pickles with #RenewOrville on it.Maybe if it is cancelled, a letter-writing campaign might change their minds. I remember that happening with some science fiction show once.
I see people talk about changed history, Kalons winning, and Isaac somehow remembering the original history. So this is basically Orville's version of "Yesterday's Enterprise". Could be great.
Easy. Kelly probably had no reason to do so until nine months earlier... By then, it was too late for her to do anything. They never stated her rank or position when hell broke out...All throughout the episode I kept asking myself what took Kelly 7 years to fix her mistake? Why did they wait till the Kaylons attacked to actually do something. Because of that I couldn't get into this episode at all. I did like seeing Alara though, and there were some nice battle sequences, but I felt this episode could have been more tightly written.
I do hope the show comes back for the 3rd season though.
Same hereAs soon as they went down to the planet and LaMarr asked to see the lieutenant I knew it was Alara. The episode was pretty predictable but I really enjoyed. The score as usual was great.
There is no such thing.the bad TOS episodes
Yes it was like a fan film script with a great budget and VFX were the star of the show this week. The music had a huge TSFS vibe to me. Kaylon are not very good marksmen either for robots.......Halfway through it. Maybe the best episode so far. Some subtle classic Star Wars references that I don't hate... the booming orchestra, asteroid field, "Han solo" attire, Yaphid sticking his head out the base door ala Return Of The Jedi when C3PO & R2D2 knock on Jabba's door. <3
Also caught what I think was a Firefly reference, the "Scavengers will cut off our skin and wear it like a suit"... the "Reavers" I think they were called, if memory serves.
