Agreed, time setting doesn't hold much of a significance overall. All I was saying is by jumping so far past any other series, the stories don't need to tie back to canon be it TOS-era or TNG-era. I think I'll find that refreshing.

The big question here is "now what?" It's clear that Burnham and company will not be returning to their own time. Will they end up getting a new 32nd century Discovery or something like that, assuming Starfleet is still around? We know by this time the Federation has "time ships" (they had them at least since the 29th century as Voyager mentioned), not to mention temporal agents like the 31st century's Crewman Daniels as Enterprise mentioned.
Or for that matter, did they overshoot or undershoot?

I assumed because it was one of the higher production staff members.
And they actually did show part of the face at one point. (58:44)

A couple of things I want to say about the camera work. I like the split-screens. They should do more of those. But I didn't like when they suddenly moved the camera from one thing to the next in a hard-turn at the beginning. Points for trying something different with the camera movements...

As a Videographer, I've had it drilled into my head for my entire professional life to not to move a camera like that, especially when a broadcast is on my camera or if it's a one-camera shoot. Granted, I do mostly sports and corporate videos, so apples and oranges. But it's still one of those things that I reflexively think of as a taboo.

10/10, just for that alone. Though there were other emotional moments that almost made me cry. And now I actually care about Stamets/Culber. The battle was superb. The graphics from the initial wormhole travel were superb (if not remotely realistic).
Jett Reno isn't dead, which is great, because she's my favorite DSC-exclusive character. I hope she's the CHENG next season.
I'm gonna be über-pissed if they don't do a Pike show now.
I love that DSC is now gonna be set so far in the future. Sure, it's a cop-out, but it's one that was needed, and they managed to justify it.
Discovery, you've finally made up for the clusterfuck that was season one.
Bring on Picard. Bring on Pike. And bring on DSC season three.

9/10 the ending was better than i expected but...overall i just feel kinda confused by the all enterprise ending like am i watching discovery or ''star trek pike''..... not that i would mind a pike show it's just weird for discovery to end like this

I voted 10, but on reflection, it's probably more like a 9. So I unintentionally split some of the difference for you.
No way is Shatner doing a Trek appearance without billing and a fat paycheck. If he ever does it, it will be clear it's him.
Well, it won't be exactly like VOY because they were being driven by trying to get back home and the hope of getting back home. It will be a question of what kind of future Disovery finds and how the crew decides to adapt and live and thrive in it. Do they make themselves known or take a low profile, for example. VOY rationalized the maintenance of Starfleet order because they were ostensibly on a mission to get back home. Uniforms every day, the command protocols, spit and polish. They might as well have been orbiting Rigel 7. Discovery is where it is for good. Maybe Starfleet protocol will be one of the first things to go. Maybe the crew will all go on a first name basis? Wear civvies?
Their situation is also different because they are going to have to decide whether or not to let their presence be known, and if so, to whom and how. Of course, that all depends on what kind of future the producers have put them into.
With Control out of the picture, I think they could go back but the end of Season 2 felt pretty final about where Discovery stands with the 23rd Century. "We'll never mention Burnham or Discovery or the Spore Drive... because TOS angry fanboys."
I'm fine with them going to another time if that's where the story goes. I've said this several times before. But it's another issue if it's because they were bullied into it.

I'm not a fan of the "Let us never speak of them again" ending. Seems like they caved to the continuity nerds.
What I really liked about this one was that it had some good emotional beats (Michael and Spock, Culber and Stamets), plenty of action, and a dose of wonder (the wormhole trips). I also liked the nitty-gritty of putting the suit together, which helped make something that is essentially magic feel more grounded.
Reno gives me life. I'm so happy she's there. I'm encouraged by Kurtzman telling us that this core group will be even more important and developed next season, because I don't think it's an accident that the last shot of Discovery has her working a station on the bridge. Reno didn't just survive; she became a core part of the drama here.
This leads me to an altogether different question. I can't imagine we won't have our characters finding out what happened to their families next season. There's some decent drama to be had from looking through old databases, maybe.
