"A fourth signal leads the USS Discovery to an insular world, where Pike is forced to make a life-changing choice. Burnham and Spock investigate a Section 31 ship gone rogue, leading to a discovery with catastrophic consequences." - Memory Alpha

Someone's really slacking off when it comes to releasing the episode titles. They used to be released in a timely manner well before the episode so that we'd have something. Not anymore, so I had to make one up. Hope everyone likes it. I'm just kidding of course. I didn't really make up the episode title. It was @Roald.

Is Leland the beginning of the Borg? That's what everyone is talking about. One theory is that he's sent far away and back in time and it all goes from there until we have our present-day Borg. Will Discovery finally give us an origin story? Time will tell and not many people are clamoring for one anyway. We've got 3 episodes left and a lot of ground to cover with Control, the Red Angel, the rest of the signals, a heart-wrenching wrap-up story for Pike, more of the Enterprise and the possible loss of the Discovery itself. Hope whatever we get is good.

While I'm looking forward to whatever the last couple of episodes brings us, I really want to see a somewhat drawn out starship battle (better than the Binary Stars one) and I hope the appearance of those S-31 ships is a prelude to that.

I wonder if the episode ends with the Enterprise coming in. I think that the big E is going to be around for the final 2 episodes. Discovery may need some help with the Section 31 ships.

I think this episode will be a set up for a big 2 part season finale. So big E appearing at the end makes sense.

Hopefully something substantial happens in this episode. Feels like that not much has happened in the past 4 episodes.

...and in a shot completely the antithesis of when the 1701 appeared at the end of season 1 - the Enterprise will again drop out of warp suddenly, but rather than systems shutting down, instead she'll be guns blazing, torpedoes spreading from her bussard collectors, pylons, nacelles, impulse drives, warp core, double Window bridge dome, forward deflector dish, etc!

We'll get a shot of the bridge, with Number One seated in the Captain's chair, resolve of steel, commanding the bridge crew with such authority, and she will make us forget all about Discovery, Section 31, CONTROL, Leland, Spock, Burnham, Pike, Spores, MU Lorca, Sphere, T’Kuma, Tyler-Voq, Unified Klingon Imperial D[isco]-7s, red bursts, Red Angel suits, etc...

It will be nothing but GLORIOUS FURY unleashed from the starship, and starkly apparent that the Constitution Class vessel wasn't solely held back during the Battle of the Binary Stars for the reasons Cornwall gave Pike, but rather because the USS Enterprise 1701 is indeed the flagship of the federation, and packing heat like no other star-fleet vessel we've seen to date!
    Huzzah!!!

    Sorry - got a little carried away in a fan-fic moment! ;P

I fear that the writers have dragged their heels for too long in the last three shows to suitably bring everything to a satisfactory conclusion at the end of 2-14
Another rushed finale is on the cards, so Enterprise appearing on the scene to help Discovery blast away those nasty S31ers is probably about the jist of it.
    Loose ends ?
    Borg origins ?
    Angel ?
Fuck it, blast everything to hell.

I think there are going to be quite a few unhappy campers if Leland has had some physical modifications when we next see him.

It could all be a red herring though.

    Or not.

I have no clue how things will go this episode, I just hope that whatever it is, they dial back the technobabble that made the last episide so clunky. I find Disco to be at its best when focusing on its characters instead.

I'm of two minds of this.

    1. The show is called Star Trek: Discovery. One would think that the hero ship would be responsible for winning the day.
    2. However... a little room for potential spoilers...

According to some rumors from a forum member, Pike orders Disco abandoned. So who really knows? Maybe they don't make it back to the ship for whatever reason by the end of the season. It would make sense for why we see ol' NCC-1031 1000 years down the line in "Calypso."

It is telling that it appears that Leland/Control spaced much of the Section 31 crews. Doesn't really seem like a Borg tactic. I still wonder if Gant or maybe even Tyler end up being compromised by Control, but we will see.

I don't really see why an A.I. that has come to the conclusion that it has to destroy all life in the universe would first create it's own part organic part machine race.

So I will be surprised if it's anything to with the Borg origins.
