USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

How so? TOS is hardly in the same continuity with itself, depending on the episodes

I’m assuming that what he means is that when someone watches an episode of TOS, and then watches another episode of TOS, there’s no mistake that it’s the same show. Then when said person watches an episode of TNG, they can see that its visual style is similar to TOS. Same with DS9, VOY, and to a lesser extent, ENT. Even the Abrams films have a visual style that at least tributes TOS, if not outright matches it. DSC season 1 didn’t seem to follow that pattern. If someone watched the show and didn’t know it was a Star Trek series, they might have mistaken it for a stand-alone Sci-fi series that had nothing to do with Star Trek besides ships with saucers and nacelles and transporters and aliens that are said to be Klingons but look nothing like what we’ve seen before (and the same goes for their ships.)

The neck and secondary hull. Just assume it's all hollow, with rooms dotted about and corridors linking them. It helps explain how such a massive ship has only 130 crew. Much of the volume is uninhabitable.

According to some internal diagrams of the NX-01, half or more of it's interior was machinary too. The Kelvin had some very bulky old systems taking up room pushing into habitable areas.

We've just used to the more refined classes that keep that to a minimum.

Errr... Ships with both saucers and nacelles should be a clear indicator that this is Star Trek. There are no other franchises that use this impractical designs, so what else would it be?

And, sorry, if you see a war faring alien species with noticeable forehead ridges, that speak obviously Klingon and are still wondering who they might be, then I really don't know how to help you in that regard

That’s ok, because I don’t need any help, thank you. And I’ve never heard Klingon spoken in the extremely slow and mumbling manner that the DSC Klingons do.

And the saucer/nacelle thing wasn’t my point. The Orville doesn’t have ships with nacelles but I’m sure many people have mistaken it for a Star Trek show because of its other visual styles.

Folks are so used to the gruesome 90s 'interpretation' of Klingon, some of them seemingly don't even recognize if it is spoken as intended. It's a little sad, to be honest, to witness that.
Then again, I couldn't give a rat's ass about starship details and nacelles lengths, so I guess it comes down to me being more interested in the linguistic part of fandom than others.

Like it did on the first season of Discovery. It doesn't matter how Klingon 'really' should be spoken, there are no real Klingons, the purpose of the thing is to sound cool on TV and it didn't.

It sounded fine to me.
I wish they hadn't spoken it almost every time they were on screen though.

Yeah, the NX-01 carried a crew of 83 in a saucer section that was actually slightly larger than the NCC-1701's would be a century later. The NX-01 clearly carried a lot of machinery and support systems that would either no longer exist by the time of Pike and Kirk or would be miniaturized and/or relocated to the stardrive section/secondary hull in Constitution-class Federation starships.

Kirk's Enterprise could fit 430 officers and enlisted personnel in a primary hull smaller than Archer's Enterprise so something definitely changed in terms of equipment size and storage between 2161 and 2266.

Perhaps the amount of foodstuffs and water needed to sustain a large number of people shrunk as far as storage space was concerned?
With the advent of food synthesizers and then food replicators in the 24th century, the amount of space for other things apparently grew as did the number of folks that could be kept alive for longer periods of time.
(thus the 5 year missions?)

It probably doesn't come out until June, so probably won't see more until than.

It was originally meant to come out this month, but was delayed. They haven't given a reason yet, but I'm guessing it's because the ship hasn't done anything on the show yet except sit around.

They don't want to make ships without seeing them in some sort of action, because they might have a unique feature or something special which they can put on the ship.
