Now that we know who the red Angel is, I'm posting my theory about who control is. [IMG]

Yes, I suspect it will also be Michael Burnham since it was her bio-neural signature Airiam had on file. And there's no reason Control would fake it for any reason.

Now that could have worked pretty well. Either Amanda from a dark future timeline or a Temporal Cold War agent who had to repair a major and devastating change made to history by Control's existence. I suppose you could also say it's a 28th century Federation Temporal agent from before the time of either Braxton or Daniels who didn't have a timeship or other advanced time displacement technology and had to rely on the Red Angel suit to make brief but effective trips back throughout Earth and Federation history to repair the damage.

I'm guessing Michael will take the suit at some point, which is why Airiam had her brain pattern on file.

One or more of the times we saw the Angel in this season might have been Michael.

She might be the one who saved those WW3 survivors.

Her mother had no reason to save the WW3 survivors, unless it was part of a test run

    Well …

… we do see Michael don the Red Angel suit in the trailer for next week. So yeah, she's the Red Angel as well.

I watched the trailer a few times, I don't recall seeing that.

Are you sure that is the thing? Seems a bit off colour-wise.

    Well …

… it's the same Red Angel suit we see only a couple of seconds earlier in the trailer …

You know, maybe you are right. Looking at it longer I'm not so sure anymore.

I zoomed it again on my laptop just now (was looking on my phone last time). I'm now convinced I'm correct (not that that's ever been a guarantee, of course. ;) ).

At first I thought it was Michael, but now I am leaning towards it being Mama Burnham, too. Wow, the casting on this show is excellent.

ETA: Edited out my other comments and picture because it was already discussed earlier. That'll teach me to skim the last page. Oops.

Hmmm... been pondering a few things around the last episode- RA reveal:

    - wondering if the Section 31 spinoff series might explore in greater detail the origin of the suit, Klingon time travel interests, and Mama Burnham (and perhaps Papa Burnham) involvement in Section 31 - through flashbacks.

    - I’m still intrigued by the New Eden motivation of the RA, and am wondering if this particular red burst event will end up not being connected at all to Mama Burnham in the exosuit- (perhaps in this instance, the RA being something else altogether, and not Burnhams mother...)

I must say: right now, I’m having a ‘ball of a time’ being entertained by Discovery! It’s nice to be watching an iteration of Trek where events are unfolding over time, and I have no idea where it’s going, or what it’s going to evolve into! :)

What if the red angel turns out to be Burnham and her mom? At one point Michael gets into the suit to time travel to finish or correct her moms work.

    My theory...
I think that the first time Mrs. Burnham used the suit was when the Klingons attacked.
She probably jumped into the suit to escape getting killed, and didn't have much say in where the suit went the first time.
It was just by happenstance she ended up in 2053 Richmond, Indiana during WWIII.
This makes the most sense for the fact that it's the only Red Angel appearance that doesn't really tie into any of the other appearances.
It was a happy accident for those folks about to be A-bombed into oblivion.
