Most of TOS except the visual style and dumb bits.
    Movies 1-4 then 6-9.
    5 is not Canon.
TNG except the bollocks about starfleet not being military.
    DS9
    Voyger except threshold.

To me, all the deleted scenes from the films and tv shows are canon, so long as they don't contradict footage from the final film (For example, Kirk had two death scenes, so the one where he got shot in the back is not canon). Star Trek Online is canon as well.

Also, there are some ammendments to visual canon in the Kelvin Universe and the Discovery era. For example, the Kelvinverse Enterprise is IMO much smaller than they say it is, being roughly 366 meters long instead of the established 725 meters. In the case of the Discovery ships, the Enterprise as seen in Discovery is the exact same size as the TOS ship, and not the official 442 meters with all other ships scaled down accordingly.

That is unnecessary, because the creators of Star Trek didn't have to envision it as being set in the future, they could always imagine that in was in a future, one of countless alternate universe futures branching off from the late 1960s when TOS was being made and shown.

And certainly once future history dates from TOS arrived and were different from what TOS said, it became clear that TOS and all other Star Trek productions must be set in one or more alternate universe futures of the 1960s, since our universe's 1990s, for example, were different from those of Star Trek. And then on 29 November 1993 the TNG episode "Parallels" was first broadcast, with Worf slipping between many different alternate universes where the Enterprise-D and its crew were similar to but not identical with the ones he was familiar with.

And "Parallels" made it clear to anyone who thought about it that the alternate universe that Worf was from was merely one of countless alternate universes branching out from "Encounter at Farpoint".

The latest episode of the TNG era, "Endgame", and the latest movie of the TNG era, Star Trek: Nemesis happen in only two of countless millions and billions of alternate universes branching off from "Encounter at Farpoint". And "Encounter at Farpoint" happens in only one of countless millions and billions of alternate universes branching out from "Where No Man Has Gone Before", which happened in only one of countless alternate universes branching out from "The Cage".

And "The cage" happens in only one of countless millions and billions of alternate universe branching off from the 1960s when TOS was made.

At least the creators of TOS, if they thought about alternate universes in science fiction that are constantly diverging ever second, would have considered TOS to be just one of countless alternate universe futures of their era in the 1960s.

    But there is more!

The creators of TOS in the 1960s might possibly have intended to create a show set in one of countless gazillions of future alternate universes diverging from our future sometime after the 1960s. But what they actually succeeded in creating was a show set in an alternate universe which had already diverged from ours before TOS was made in the 1960s.

There were many references to events in Earth history before the 1960s in many episodes of TOS and in many later Star Trek productions. And many Star Trek writers included only accurate historical references in their scripts. But many other writers of scripts included inaccurate historical references in their scripts, and sometimes those errors were not found or corrected by the production staff and remained in the Star Trek episodes and movies.

Because a number of Star Trek movies and episodes refer to events before the 1960s inaccurately, all Star Trek productions must take place in alternate universes which diverged from ours sometime before the 1960s when the first Star Trek productions were made.

Sufficiently alert fans could have noted that Star Trek happens in an alternate universe to ours as early as the 1960s when TOS was first broadcast.

See my post number 13 in the thread: https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/tho...imagined-modern-history.298340/#post-12811852

Furthermore, it seems to me that different Earth calendars must be used in different Star Trek productions, so any Earth date given in any Star Trek production is not certain to be an Anno Domini date and could be a date from any one of many different Earth calendars.

See my post number 955 above on page 48 of this thread.

Thus it is certainly possible that some Star Trek dates which you think have already come might still be in the future. Not that it matters, because Star Trek was already in an alternate universe when TOS was first made, and so Star Trek is never going to happen in the future of our alternate universe.

My head canon includes all the bloopers, including NuKirk and NuSpock conversing in ridiculous fake Irish accents, Riker walking out of the turbolift onto the bridge and tripping and falling flat on his face, and various characters messing up their lines and uncharacteristically swearing in frustration.

All Starfleet ships incorporate technology similar to Dr. Who's TARDIS.

What, you didn't know that? You never asked. :)

Future Doc from Living Witness went back in time and rescued the duplicate Voyager crew from Course: Oblivion and took them back to the 31st or whatever century.
TMP takes place ten years after the end of TOS, like in real life and 2, 3, 4 and 5 take place five years or so after that.
Genesis didn't mess up just because David Marcus used protomatter, it messed up because he converted a nebula into a planet.
Starbase 74 and all the other reuses of Spacedock footage in TNG aren't really as big as they would have to be if they were able to fit the Enterprise-D through the doors. They're just as big as normal Spacedock.

Honestly, that's my version of how holodecks work. It's the only explanation that doesn't give me a headache. After one early scene where someone throws snow at a holodeck wall, it always seems as if they're so real, you can't tell them from reality. So canon can bite me. Headcanon makes more sense and is way more entertaining.

My Head Cannon for the TARDIS like effect where it was "Bigger on the Inside" that was seen on the 31st century time ship was that the "Bigger on the Inside" tech won't be publically available until the 31st century and only certain branches of StarFleet have access to it, the greater part of StarFleet doesn't even know about it except for Captain Rank & above officers.

The Enterprise-B was going to be the original "Enterprise-A". There was going to be a gap between 1701 and the next Enterprise, similar to what happened between C and D and real life CVN-65 and CVN-80, and may not have had the 1701 number. Kirk saving the planet changed things.

I've tried to figure out a way to make the TOS Enterprise the same ship as the one from Countdown to Darkness, just with a different registry number. It would have to have been launched earlier than 2245 though. The Constitution class project is stalled until the 2250s with the number 1701 being held for one of the ships. The older Enterprise, which Pike had also commanded, is decommissioned and so the name Enterprise is given to the NCC-1701.

The Kelvin ships aren't really as big as they appear and the Kelvin Enterprise is only slightly bigger than the TOS Enterprise.

These Are The Voyages' TNG storyline actually take place in 2382 with Riker and Troi on the Titan and B4 is also onboard and doesn't understand what a rain check is. Troi is researching the founding of the Federation and so Riker and her go spend time in a holo-recreation that dramatise events that occurred much differently in the Enterprise era.

NX-01 is not retired at the end of Enterprise but is eventually decommissioned and does end up in a museum.

I liked the look of the early Starships as seen in the encyclopaedias! I believe they were the first vessels Starfleet used rather than the NX-01 or whatever it was called and since it wasn't visible on Kirk's wall in TMP it never happened and is probably an alternate reality! :techman:

General stories of TOS are canon but not set in stone or an accurate representation of what exactly happened, this is in line with what Gene had written for Kirk in TMP with that TOS was basically Starfleet documentary propaganda.
TOS movies are canon except 5. (largely because TNG largely retconned it by reinforcing that Sarek had only ever had one wife before Perrin, that being Amanda)
TNG is mostly canon except for some terrible episodes like parallels
    DS9 is canon.
VOY is canon except for terrible episodes like Warp 10 lizard sex.
    ENT is canon
Discovery is a "soft reboot" in Prime2 Universe (Slightly altered Prime universe)
    JJ movies are Kelvin universe.

Oh and Mirror Universe episodes across all series are just fun fanfiction fanwank and ehh in the Canon department because they make literally zero sense whatsoever.

I think that in the original (whatever "original" might mean in a context of multiple changes to the past) timeline the NX-01 did exist, only it was named Dauntless. The name, and possibly the design, changed due to the events in the film "First Contact".

You could also reckon time by PFC (Post First Contact) or WE (Warp Era).

Perhaps or more likely it was the events of the temporal cold war which we never really saw anything about!!! Was it the Romulans behind it? The Borg? Or some as yet unknown race which may have come into the series if the writers and producers knew what the hell they were doing? :wtf:

The reason the Klingons were able to overwhelm the Federation in Yesterday's Enterprise was that the attack on the Klingon colony was a slaughter, tens of thousands dead and imprisoned as slaves. This leads to a full blown war with the Romulans, who have no chance against a united and blood lusted Klingon Empire and this is why the Klingons have the resources to go toe to toe and defeat the Federation as they did, whom they turned on after the Enterprise-C, in their view, ran from battle.

After watching DISC season 1 again, I've decided Jason Isaacs is a sexy AF in that uniform. In my head canon Lorca, Pike (DISC version) and myself have a 23rd century group marriage with ME as the focus....:nyah::luvlove:;) (take that love instructors be damned!)

I just pretend every show is in a different reality. That solves all continuity issues. 8D
