USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

It's Romjin's comments about the bridge that make me think it'll be front and center, and done right. She said she teared up when she was there. I doubt she'd do that if it wasn't a legit set.

also the USS enterprise (pikey) did end up being the USS shran, not sure what's up with that but the issue after it is the regular sized disco enterprise model.

there's been some other irregularities lately, the qoj-class model apparently has a veqlargh label on the stand.
Yeah, I noticed that right away.
Kinda stupid EM can't even get the simple things right.

Why would they build a set and not use it this season? That makes no sense. Occupying sound stage space isn't free, you know.

But there's no confirmation that the production actually built an Enterprise bridge set. We've all been speculating that they did based on little evidence. However, the production designer's statement about wishing she had designed the Enterprise bridge suggest otherwise.

Or it could be that somebody else actually got the job and Deverell was just pining about not getting to do it herself.

Rebecca Romijn confirmed that she saw the bridge and said it moved her. Other reports have mentioned a special set that they can't talk about. So, I'm going with "the bridge set exists". Besides, there's no reason they'd push it off to S3, because I very much doubt the Enterprise will be a recurring ship throughout Discovery's run. It's here in S2, ergo we'll see it in S2.

not to get all conspiracy theory here, but it's still possible that rumored pike enterprise series is actually in the works, just being kept quiet. the caliber of actors they cast for pike, number one, and spock, the care that went into redesigning the enterprise, and the theoretical new "stunning" bridge set could easily mean these aren't just guest players, but part of a backdoor pilot.

Or she didn't personally design it this season.

That’s how I read it. And the fact that she says she would have taken a lot from the original may mean who ever did design it came up with something that is a real departure from what we’ve seen before.

She never specified it was the bridge, but I don't see what else it could be if she couldn't talk about it.
If I remember that interview correctly, right before she talked about the set, she stated that her mother passed away shortly before she stood on said set and that the set moved her because it somehow had a connection to her mother. Now, I don't know if Romijin's mom just was a huge Trek fan and therefore the bridge is the obvious answer but depending on her mother's profession for instance the set in question might also be sothing that related to that.

Just playing the Devil's advocate here. I DO think the bridge-set was implied, but keep in mind before jumping to the obvious conclusion, that the interview can also be read differently without the fan glasses.

No fan glasses are required to make a reasonable deduction about the bridge. Here's the deal:

1. The Enterprise has been introduced as a companion ship for S2.
2. It will likely not be in S3.
3. By the end of the season, we will either have seen the bridge, or not.
4. If not, fans will be pissed off, and we know that the showrunners have an ear to the ground for that (see: Klingon reboot for S2).

The conclusion is the bridge will be seen, it will be a recognizable homage to the TOS one, and so the set must exist. Simple logic! :vulcan:
