Red Angel Theories- Post Here

The Red Angels are signals sent by that alien being at the center of the Galaxy. Spock's trying to find them because he feels they will lead him to Sybok who's still running around trying to find Sha Ka Ree. Spock knows these signals are bad news and is trying to warn Sybok. At the season finale we'll all have a big Spock family reunion. :vulcan: :rommie:

Discovery Season 2 is one massive 'Star Trek 5: The Final Frontier' prequel. ;)
Ok. I’m so wanting this to be true. If only to watch the literal meltdown of the Internet that would result.

^ I'd be so down for this, especially if the season managed to be awesome in the process and elevate Sybok to a real, beloved character. I mean (for a lot of us) they managed to convince us that Spock had a foster sister and we're down with that, and her story. Sybok, the progenitor of "made up sibling of Spock for the purposes of telling a new story" didn't amount to as much, as he was just in that one, bad movie.

It will also give us a chance to find out what the heck a Vulcan princess is.
I wouldn't hold my breath on this one. From that other "Star" franchise, we waited over 40 years and had an entire prequel trilogy and multiple tv shows, but still didn't get a proper explanation on how Leia was a princess in a democratic Alderaan. :P I'm not sure it's even really explained in any of the games, novels or comics.

And honestly, an alien who thinks he's God probably would send out signals that look like angels.

Democratic doesn't mean Republican. There are lots of democratic monarchies around us.

Honestly Leia being a Princess is one of those things that just never aged well since 1977. It literally had no bearing on her character from Episodes 5-8, and arguably even in the 1977 film itself. It was only there because it sounds cooler to be rescuing a Princess than to be rescuing a Senator.

Even the idea that she would have "more money" than Han could imagine doesn't hold up to scrutiny, I'm surprised a seasoned traveler like Han didn't point out that her financial assets were likely frozen by the Empire, they just saw the pieces of her planet that was blown up, and the Rebellion barely has enough money to finance their army as it is.

But maybe we'll find out what a Vulcan princess is after all regardless. :vulcan:

You can't be serious. That's like watching the first 10 seconds of a movie trailer and deciding it's a bad movie.

We haven't even been introduced to the story yet.
If you watch the first ten seconds and decide you don’t want to watch it, is that a bad thing?

What's to explain? The UK is a parliamentary democracy, and it's also a constitutional monarchy. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Han is shown loading his payment onto the Falcon in boxes in A New Hope, so it could be hard currency (credits), gemstones, precious metals, etc. The canon Junior Novelization states that it was precious metals kept on hand by the Rebellion for use in ship repairs and circuitry and so forth. I'm sure Bail Organa and his daughter Leia were funding the Rebellion big time and converted their donated assets into credit chips, precious metals, gems, hyperfuel, and so forth so the Rebellion could continue spending it if their assets were ever seized.

Given the Vulcan retention of their ancient religious practices and "mysticism" in spite of their current logic based society, I would think having ceremonial royals and noble houses (of which Sarek's family is most likely one given their standing and lands) as a remnant from pre-awakening times would not be out of order.
