USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

Episode 1
So the 2D diagram of the straight pylon Enterprise was on the bridge of the Discovery like in the BTS video, but the 3D model itself was still the angled one from Season 1

^^^ that is interesting to hear, and I’m wondering what this means for the design of the 1701, in terms of Discovery...

I wonder if the use the time as a chance to give it a re-retro canon retrofit.

Like, we'll probably see it again next week. (Becuase Romijn.) And then it goes away, only to come back in heroic fashion during the finale looking something closer to the Jefferies classic.

I still think it was a mistake by the 2D team
It is absolutely unthinkable that a 2D diagram on a set might not correspond perfectly to the actual studio model. There are no precedents. Not the blobby Enterprise next to the turbolift in TOS, not the Phase II Enterprise schematics all over the bridge in the first three movies, not the stubby E-E MSD in the TNG films, not whatever was going on with the Defiant's bridge for its first few seasons on DS9, and not the STID Enterprise appearing in computer screens (and posters) for Beyond.

Mistakes and inconsistencies like that simply do not happen. They're all secret messages and foreshadowing being transmitted from the production team through our pause buttons into our dental fillings.

I really would have preferred te straight pylons. Especially since the current one look so awkward - about half-as angled as the one on the TMP-refit, much closer to the NX-01 than any actual "Enterprise". So yeah, that was a bit disappointing.
Overall, I'm still not a fan of redesigning her at all. As much as I still think they are relying waay too much on established characters and iconography. They could have Anson Mount play a completely new character, or Robert April - so that we wouldn't have that many pre-conceived notions to compare to.

But alas - for what they did, showing the "original" Enterprise in a visually re-vamped show - they did alright. It wasn't perfect - but not offensive either.

Nope, just the chair on the intro sequence.

Of the Enterprise, we see Spock's quarters.

Thanks.

After finishing season one last night, me and my significant other just couldn't take any more Discovery.

We'll get to the season two premiere sometime this weekend.

We're going to see more, I'm sure, with Number One due to make an appearance and probable flashbacks to what's happening with Spock. They might not have a bridge set though.

Also, the Enterprise flies dramatically up to Discovery at the end of season one, complete with TOS Engine Hum, but at the start of season 2 all systems have failed and she's dead in space.

It's very Final Frontier of them to make the Enterprise look so weak.
I said elsewhere, but it's possible Enterprise returns at the end of the season in a more TOSified form. I don't have access to CBS AA right now, but did anyone get a look at the tug ships hauling Enterprise? Seemed like maybe Ptolemy class tugs

They’re small and out of focus most of the time.

Nah they have a bridge set, it was mentioned in an Instagram post from someone working there. I’m guessing we won’t see it until late in the season.

Except for Stamets like saying she’s a really tough ship.

really would have preferred te straight pylons.
Same here.
