So the Enterprise set out the war? Interesting. I wonder what that novel is all about then.
So is Saru C-3PO now?
If, heaven forbid, Tony should ever tragically pass, I fully expect Jones to be the one they ask to pick up the mantle. Er... chassis. So is Saru C-3PO now?
Basically. But it works. He got Orville'd, but it suits him. I lol'd at the 'what'd you expect?' scene.
I'm not sure Orville invented humor.
In one of the new books, Prime Lorca has his fortune cookies, also. The cookies were from the Mirror Universe too.
No kidding. But it more than likely inspired the 'course correction' for Discovery. This episode definitely came off as very much aware of the complaints regarding S1. I wouldn't be surprised if the lighter direction was also a CBS mandate. They saw what worked elsewhere, and recognized what Discovery was lacking.
I highly doubt it. The plan was always to "move from the dark and into the light" with the conclusion of the war. Producers were saying that from the very beginning.
And since DSC was considered successful in S1 by CBS and the majority of folks, I highly doubt they were taking queues from any other shows.
Its one thing to make statements in general it’s another to make claims in its quarterly reports, that’s a serious crime. They told the public it was considered successful. But this complete course correction and inclusion of Pike, Spock and the Enterprise shows that they wanted a new direction for the show. I don't buy into the PR spin.
Look at how abruptly the war arc was tossed under the rug. Look at all the internal changes behind the scenes with creatives coming and going. S2 is a new vision for the show that wasn't part of the original gameplan. But if you want to feel as though there was always a magical plan in place despite all these changing factors, your prerogative.
Personally, I don't take the statements from CBS or the producers at complete face value.
