And yet the assertion will continue on without proof. Reckless speculation is reckless.

That the Klingorcs are deeply unpopular is not speculation. That the Picard show will use them is.

It certainly wouldn't surprise me if they do use them. And it wouldn't surprise me if they constantly reference Discovery. But it would be a deeply stupid thing to do. You don't draw inspiration from the least popular part of the franchise if you have any sense.

The Klingons in DSC are divisive, but we also see refinement of the makeup so I'll hold my breath on that judgement.

As for referencing "least popular" some how Enterprise ended in ST 09 and was a very successful and popular film. So, I don't buy this either. YMMV and all that jazz.

    Feel free.

I've no idea what this means. But if you're talking about the JJ-verse being popular... you know they just effectively cancelled it, right? Because the audience wasn't big enough?

The first film was popular enough. I'll not hold the audience responsible for Paramount's mismanagement of that part of the franchise.

Regardless, none of this points to a "screw Star Trek" mentality asserted and I reject that out of hand.

Yes, a decade ago the JJ-verse was popular. I liked the JJ movies myself, all of them.

That's a feature of Discovery rather than the JJ verse.

Yes, and they referenced Enterprise, multiple times. Somehow they made money. It's weird, I know. ;)
I heard the same nonsense regarding the JJ verse. I put as much stock in to it now as I did then: none.

Not sure what that has to do with anything.

    Uh huh.

I can guarantee you that the Klingons will look exactly like they do in Discovery, because the Picard show is being made by the same showrunner. It would make zero sense for the show to have them look different.

It's because of Discovery's success they're even doing the Picard spinoff, with the exact same production company.

If CBS knows what's right, it should completely ditch the alt-right fanbase the franchise has amassed. The new viewers they're getting globally more than makes up for it.

You tell me. ENT is not considered very popular yet still inspired part of Kelvin Trek. That seemed to do OK, even with that.

It's the typical "Not real Star Trek" party line that I heard. Abrams isn't a "true fan" and "hated Star Trek."

Same old nonsense just because someone did something new. It ain't hard to figure out.

Still not sure what Ent references have todo with anything, but okay.

Same old misrepresentation of the reasons most of the potential audience don’t like STD. Meh.

Oh? I was simply arguing that it was not demonstrable that current production team did not hate Star Trek as a franchise. I was not aware the majority of the audience was available to poll to determine such reasons .

Regardless, I stand by my assertion that current producers do not hate Trek, nor does referencing DSC in the Picard show condemn the later.

    It's irrational at best.

Nobody produces a show that they hate. And the only reason why they would hate it in the first place is if it wasn’t making any money. And if it wasn’t making any money, they wouldn’t make five more shows based on it.

I don't know. Why do I feel that show will feel like "Logan" rather than TNG.

First, because I haven't seen any other TNG casts join the show. Second, it's more real world. Three, it's 20 years after. So probably that Picard is no longer a captain and just a mere Federation Civilian. He may become the president of Federation. Or maybe just an old man suffer from Trauma because of the event behind Trek 09. Or maybe he just an old man that suffer from post hero syndrome. Dunno

Yup...dunno. So why imagine worst case scenarios? Why is being a Federation Civilian a bad thing? Or being president?
